How do you replace the ice maker?
Dave for Model Number kenmore elite 79577543660
Answer Hello Dave,
Remove the upper tray in the freezer compartment. Once this is out there are two phillips screws on the side of the lower rails that hold the lower drawer in place. Remove screws and lift out the Drawer. Once this is out you have clear access to get to the screws on the icemaker to remove. The upper screws only have to be unscrewed just a little but the one on the bottom has to be fully removed.
When we use the water spout on the outside of the door....a constant stream of water comes out of the ice maker into the tray and after filling a few cups of water the ice tray has a 4 inch solid block of ice. The ice maker continues to make ice however the cubes just become part of the ice block. Any suggestions?
Brian for Model Number AP4438958
Answer Brian, The place to start is the water supply line(pressure to high or low) and the water system fill valve,(a solenoid or diaphram is weak and the pressure fluctuation causes both valves to open and fill at the same time. Without a model number, that would be the most likely situation for your post description. Thanks and Good Luck
I just need the plug on ice macker. Can I get it without having to order the whole thing?
