My 3-year-old Kenmore over-the-range microwave oven quit revolving and heating at the same time. Repairman said it needed a new magnetron and that the replacement part would cost more than buying a new microwave. If his diagnosis is correct, isn't that part AP4437489 about $60? Could it be another problem besides, or in addition, to changing out the magnetron? Also, is it easier to replace the appliance rather than taking the oven apart to install a new magnetron?

My husband believes that our magnetron is our issue. I put in our Microwave model # in and you have the part. The numbers 2M214 and 161GP match, but not the C11A-013561 are different. Does this make a difference?

Microwave sounds louder and no heating action. You guys have the magnetron. If more parts are needed I can replace the whole unit for $191.00. I'am trying to decide which way to go.

Hello, Our 6 year old oven stopped heating a few months back. The touch screen panel seems to work fine including the clock and hood. However, regardless of the temp/time chosen, the turntable turns, the hood inhales but nothing heats up, even the slightest bit. I do not have an ohmmeter but wonder if you would hazard a guess that the Magnetron would need replacing. We are a family of 2 and the microwave has been lightly used although we live near the ocean and electronics do not last long here at all. Would it be reasonable for me to remove the Magnetron and send it to you for testing? We do have a local appliance repair guy but based on past experience, he just makes a guess on what is wrong and replaces modules/parts until the unit functions again - which is nothing I can't do myself. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks for your time, Roger.
