Microwave light and fan turns on when door is opened. I suspect a switch in the door is malfunctioning? Can you give advice on what switch (primary/secondary) I need? thanks!

Answer Hello Hans. You will need to test the switches. NC to COM should read closed and NO to COM should read open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. LG over oven microwave. Fan starts when door is opened. Seems to work ok, just nervous about the fan coming on. Read that it could be a door switch?

Answer Jay, The secondary switch would be the most likely cause of the motor coming on when the door is open.

Answer Hello Randy, The things that you would want to check would be the High voltage side of the microwave. Check continuity on the magnetron thermal fuse and the diode. If either are open then replace. Check the magnetron for resistance. .50 ohms would indicate a good reading and check to make sure magnetic is not broken. If broken or magnetron reads open then replace magnetron. Check to make sure that capacitor and transformer are good.

The light under the microwave that luminates the the stove doesn't work. The switch activates the light but light doesnt come on. Have taken bottom off microwave to expose wiring for light tested wires to see if there is power and got no reading. How do I get access to switch on outside panel that I push to activate light? Is that my issue?

Answer Hello Dave, The switch to activate the lights for the bottom of unit is incorporated into the control board and cannot be replaced individually. If there is no power to the lights then the control board ACM49437018 would be what would need to be replaced.

The microwave light comes on, the timer runs down, but the tray doesn't rotate and the motor doesn't run. It was in the middle of a timed cook and it just stopped rotating and running, although the timer kept running down. Any ideas?

Answer Hello Lila, I would check the turntable motor 6549W1S017A to see if it is working. You might also make sure the turntable support ring 5889W1A003B is connected to the motor properly. Hope this helps!

Answer Hello Wayne. No, if you open the door and the unit starts, you have a bad door switch and will need to replace the door switch on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Microwave turns on but does not warm. Also the range lights and exhaust fan won't turn on. The control panel displays functions of working but, nope. I got an error code of F-9.
