I have a Zenith dehumidifier model zd300y0 and upon start up it displays 70% then instantly drops to 1% and shuts down. Is it this control board or the sensor?
Answer Hello Tom,
When the humidity starts high but the control suddenly drops, the sensor has failed. As per all of the information I could dig up, this can damage the control board. It is recommended to change the sensor and the control at the same time to avoid damage to either the new sensor or the new control as the sensor, when bad, can also damage the control.
When plugged in the light turns on but nothing happens. I tried jumping the relay circuits on the pcb and I got the compressor to turn on but the fan still does not. Thinking it may be the fan relay on the pcb. Does that make sense? Do I have to discharge the capacitor to switch that out? Thanks!
Answer Hi Shawn. You will need the main control board part # EBR39204301. If you stay away from the capacitor altogether then you will be safe. Use the supplied tech sheet in the toe kick grill or in the controls section to put the unit in a diagnostic mode. This will bring up fault codes and we can help decipher. Thank You.
