Ok, I have changed both circuit boards and tested the high limit switch on the dryer. What else could be causing it to not come on at all? Press on button and no lights, sounds, or anything. Interior light does not come on when door is open. 125 volts is getting to smaller terminal board ?
Answer Hi Mike. Test the common white wire and the white white and yellow leads of the door switch part # 6601EL3001A for continuity after disconnecting the leads. If the door switch is open (infinity) then it needs replaced. If it reads 0-ohms while closed and infinity when opened then it's ok. It suppliues the neutral to the door lamp and the neutral to the board. You can try to jumper the actual wires temporarily and then try to restore the power to see if the switch is bad. Measure for 240 vac at the dryer terminal block. Also make sure you have 120 vac from the center terminal (neutral) to the outer terminals each. Thank You.
I checked for continuity on the high limit switch with a digital multimeter and it zeroed out, does that mean the switch is bad?
Answer Hello Mike,
If the meter reads zero resistance, the same as touching the two meter leads together, it is a good part. This is zero resistance which will make a complete circuit until the thermostat gets hot enough to open, at which time it will not read anything, (no electrical continuity).
Dryer will not heater up normally, it takes two drying cycles to dry a normal load of clothes? What part has failed and is it hard to replace?
Answer Hello Henry. It sounds like the venting system is clogged. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the pipe and the dryer both. Hope this helps.
