I have an LG dlg5988w gas dryer. Last week it stopped drying completely. As I was taking it a part, the igniter shattered. I replaced the igniter and the motor (for an unrelated issue). As I was putting the dryer back together I noticed a reset button on one of the thermostats (the high limit thermostat turns out). I pushed it in and it clicked. Put the dryer back together, worked ok for one load and it stopped drying again. I did some troubleshooting and it looks like the reset on the high limit thermostat keeps getting tripped. I ran the dryer with the front cover off. After I reset the high limit thermostat and start the dryer, the flame comes on for few minutes then shuts off and never comes back on, unless I reset the high limit thermostat again. I don't know if the thermostat is faulty and does not reset its self (should it reset itself? Is it normal for the reset button to be popped?) or if the temperature in the dryer is really to high. Thanks

My gas dryer does not dry clothes. I tested by running without the vent attached to rule out any clogs. Initially, the flame would start and then shut off after a few seconds; I replaced a broken flame sensor and now it stays lit for longer than a minute at a time. Could it be one of the thermostats? The Hi-Limit thermostat doesn't click when I press it, is this normal?

My LG dryer quit drying. I replaced the thermostat assembly (part # 6931EL3004B) but it did not fix the problem. Any ideas? Before it quit drying completely, it would run for awhile and partially dry the clothes but it would shut off before they would dry. If re-started it would shut off right away.

What is the part number for the 2nd outlet hi limit switch. This it the auto-reset limit switch not the manual limit switch. The manual switch is not tripping out it is the one on the upper part of the heater funnel. I jumped it out and heater works fine. We cleaned out the dryer vents so we should be good to go with a new limit switch. My manual shows the part as 6931EL3003F but you have it as the manual reset switch. Mine has the n95 mark on the switch for a 95C trip set point. Thanks

My dryer takes a long time to dry the clothes, sometimes 8 hours. The dryer does not get hot enough, you can hear the flame come on for about 30 seconds and then is off for about 1.5 minutes and then the flame is on for 5 seconds off for 15 seconds and on again for 30 seconds. How hot should the dryer get? What should I test or what should I replace.

The ignitor glows red, lights the gas than 15 seconds later there is a click and the gas goes out? I just replaced the sensor assembly but it is still doing the same thing.
