Water will not dispense in the ice tray after dumping the ice. Water does dispense from the water dispenser in the door. So I assume the valve is working. What is the problem?
Answer Hello Walter,
Since the water valve is a dual valve, the water valve 5221JA2006D is the most likely problem. There is a possibility of the contacts in the icemaker assembly 5989JA1005D being bad, but the valve is more likely.
On recommendation of Sears flor employee, I installed Kenmoreclear! Water filter for LG Model LFRD2580ST Refrigerator instead of LG part AP4439984 (filter). Is this Kenmore part truly compatible with my LG model? The dispenser still seems restricted.
Answer Hello Art. Some units have a fast fill water system and use a specific water filter designed to work with this unit. If you installed the water filter suggested and it's restricting your water flow, that could be due to it not being compatible. For your unit, we show the water filter is part number 5231JA2006F, thanks!
Does this filter both ice and water dispensers?
Answer Hello Lawrence! Yes, the refrigerator water filter 5231JA2006F filters the water and icemaker on the LG refrigerator. Thanks.
When do you know it's time to change the water filter?
Answer Hello Joe. There is usually a warning light for the filter, but if the water slows or has a bad taste, you will need to replace the filter on the unit.
Most of these units show the filter on the inside my unit doesnt have one inside where esle would it be.
This unit does not have a filter in it and if there was a filter it would be an inline filter in which it is an add on that goes behind the refrigerator.
What is the replacement water filter number?
Answer Hello Larry. ADQ36006101 is the correct water filter for the unit.
The filter recommended for my refrigerator does not seem to fit. Also there was no filter in place and I cannot figure out how to install a filter.
Answer Gerry, the filter listed for your model is part number 5231JA2006F. The filter is located in the refrigerator section. The new filter will push/twist into place. Thanks.
