My washer (Model No. WM2487HRMA) is displaying FE error code. When attempting to buy the inlet valve I realized that there are two, a main inlet valve assembly and an inlet valve. How do I determine which one needs replacing the main inlet valav assembely or the inlet valve?

Answer Dave, The most likely valve that is faulty would be the Valve inlet assembly 5220FR2008F. But you will want to pull the water line off to see which one is not closing.

Our LG washer model WM2277HW sometime gives us a FE error and the water continues to run water through the soap/bleach/fabric dispenser. If we pause the washer and shut off the hot water tap, turn it back on, we can resume the washing. My assumption is that the inlet valve is faulty and need to be replaced. Is this a correct assumption?

Answer Hello Stacey. The FE code is for Water is overflowing (water level frequency is over 213). ? If is displayed, the drain pump will operate to drain the water automatically. It does sound like the valve will need to be replaced on the unit.

The washer puts in way to much water.it will fill so much that the ruber gasket on the door deflects and starts pouring out the door. But the washer has the ie code flashing water won't shut off Thanks kelly

Answer Hello Kelly. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

When attempting to start a cycle the LCD screen said machine was not getting water and to check taps and hoses. I checked hoses and one had a washer that was crimped all else seems OK.. When trying cycle again machine makes noise and it sounds like the gate valve is getting power but no water comes up through the detergent tray and machine says its washing but no water.

I have a hum and no water entering washing mashine. There is a hot and cold water inlet valve. How do I check out these valves. What connections should I have power on or grounds or continuity. I don't want to order valves if I don't have correct input to valves. Kevin

Answer Hello Kevin, The first thing that you would want to do is to check the screens on the water valve to make sure that they are not plugged up. The inlet valve assembly should ohm out between 0.8 and 1.2k ohms and 120vac when calling for water.

Intermittently the washer will continue to run cold water even after it is powered down. I suspect the cold water valve (and have done the test with no smoking gun) but based on the writeups would it be the AP4441935 or the 5220FR2008F as mentioned in the response for washer WM2467 HRM? Thanks

Answer Hi. One quick way to tell if the water valve part # 5220FR2006H is the issue: Start the washer filling on a small load. While it is filling (after a little while) then unplug it from the wall. If it continues to fill then the water valve is bad. Thank You.

LG washer will not power up with power button until the plug is pull and re-installed. The machine works normally after doing that, until the next load or if you just shut the machine off and let it sit. Then you have to pull the plug and start over. It even came on by itself, ready to be programed for start. I'm thinking new control panel? Thanks

Both the hot and cold water inlet valves have have a screen filter between the water coming in from the hose and the valve itself. I need to replace both of these but can't find a part number for them.

Answer Kent, the screens aren't available separate from the cold inlet valve 5220FR2008F or hot inlet valve 5220FR2006H. Sorry about that!

I have the same issue with my washer as did Lorri. In your explanation to her, you advised to clean out the drain pump, but, I did not see any instructions as how to do that. Are you able to explain further? Thanks much. Linda

Answer Hello Linda. On the bottom left corner of the washer is an access panel. You open this panel and unscrew the filter out of the pump. Clean out anything in there blocking the pump. Remember, when you remove the filter any water in the unit will come out at full speed!! Be ready to catch or clean up the water.
