My front load washer is filling up with water while not running. Is this an easy fix?
The water entering the machine while being in the off position would most likely be caused by a faulty water valve 5221ER1003A. To replace the water valve you will first unplug the unit and shut off the water supply. Disconnect the hoses going to the water valve. Remove the 3 screws at the top back that are holding the main top in place and slide main top back slightly and lift off. Remove the hoses inside that connect to the water valve. You will want to mark them or go ahead and attach them to the new valve so that they are connected to the proper ports. Remove old water valve and install the new one and reassembly. Reconnect power and hoses and turn water on.
I purchased both a cold and hot water inlet for the model number indicated. The hot water inlet part number is 5221ER1003A. My question is that the wiring harness has three connector blocks for that inlet with both a black and color wire block on each. As you face the inlet from the front of the machine which side does the black wire of the harness connector connect to the inlet's block?.
Starting from the singe valve across the order of wires should be Black with orange to the single valve and then on the next terminal will be Black and white wires, black and gray wires and black and blue wires on the last set of terminals. The black will go on the left side of each looking from the front of the unit. The wiring will be from left to right on the terminals that is listed.
Why want my cold water stop running and cut off during cycles? Water is overflowing on floor
Answer Hello Nicole. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.
