Hello, I have received this part and have installed it. However, after several days of monitoring, the new timer is not advancing. Is there something else that needs to be checked? Or did I receive a defective defrost timer? If you require additional information, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks Gerry B

If I move the defrost timer manually and it doesn't go into defrost mode is that just because the timer is bad or something else also?

Hello. I recently installed my defrost timer but still the freezer won't stop to defrost. I have already been explained that it could be the thermostat or defrost heater, but before checking these parts I want to be sure I have installed the wiring correctly. I plugged it in first the same way the previous one was installed (not original and installed by someone whose expertise I now doubt) and then by color scheme the timer shows. None of them worked. Could it be that I did not plug it n correctly? Victor

I purchased a defrost timer (AP4565266) to replace my faulty original OEM timer. The PIN order on the two timers are different. On the original part as you look at the PINS with the numbers facing you it is ordered 2-1-4--3 whereas the replacement part is 2-3-4--1. The double-dash distinguishes the grouping of the first 3x PINS from the fourth pin. I called APP before I installed and they said to follow the PIN order - place the wire that was in PIN 1 into PIN1, PIN 2 into PIN 2, etc. However, when I do this the timer never advances and the compressor never cycles on - even when I manually advance the timer. I put the original defrost timer back in so at least the refrigerator will run until the frost eventually will build back up again. Should I instead place the wires back in their original order, regardless of their PIN number?
