I think one of the elements have quit working and need advice. Thanks
Bill L for Model Number 52 gallon water heater made by GE (hotpoint) ser.# VM 7473209
Answer Bill, It's a simple check if you have a multimeter TJMA-DMT3 . Turn the power off to the water heater, remove the cover panel, and the interior cover, disconnect the wires at the elenment terminal and check for a "Closed" circuit. One indication of an open element is, the hot water is not as hot as usual or the hot water doesn't last as long as usual. You could also turn off the power, turn off the water and drain the tank. Then remove the elements and visually check for a broken, detiriorated element(s) as well. Good Luck
The ice maker is not working.
Aquiles V. for Model Number PSS25MGNA WW General Electric
Answer Hello Aquiles! Is the icemaker filling with water? If not, make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If it is not frozen, check and replace the valve WR57X10032. If the icemaker if filling with water, make sure that the freezer is freezing properly between 0-5 degrees. If it is freezing properly, replace the ice maker WR30X10093. Thanks.
My Tappan freezer does not stop running. What could cause this?
James S.
Answer Hello James. The first part you would want to check is your thermostat. If this part fails, the unit will not get the signal to the compressor telling it to turn off. You may also want to find your condensor coils (usually on the back or bottom of the appliance) and make sure those are clean. I hope this info helps.
Freezer not working properly. Sometimes I have to tap on thermostat knob for it to come on.
Nick B for Model Number ffu17fc5cw4
Answer Hello Nick. It sounds like the cold control 216715200 may be bad. If you can tap on it and it comes on, you will need to replace this part. Hope this helps.
How do I test the defrost system parts, ie timer, thermostat, element to determine which is defective?
Jnmc for Model Number ET8RHMXKQ05
Answer Hello Jnmc. You can test the heater and thermostat to see if they are good with a multi-meter. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If these test good, then you have a bad timer. Hope this helps.
I have a whirlpool refrigerator mod ET8RHMXKQ05. There is ice forming on the bottom of the freezer in a sheet. Also ice forming on the top shelf of the refrigerator. What's the cause? How do I fix it.
Jnmcgrath
Answer Hello! It seems you have some sort of defrost issue. The defrost system is made up of three parts; defrost timer 482493, defrost thermostat 4387503 or defrost element 2315531. You will need to determine which part is defective. I hope this helps!
