Is DC31-00054A the pump motor for the DC96-01700A?
John for Model Number WF218ANW/XAA
Answer Hello John! Yes, the drain pump DC31-00054A (DC31-00054A) is the pump in the assembly DC96-01700A (DC96-01700A). Thanks!
In reguards to removing my drain motor, you said "Seperate the Front-frame and remove two M12 nuts". Are you telling me to remove the front panel door and all? Does the front panel assy with the electronics in it stay attached to the frame, or do i have to unhook it to remove the front. Thanks BOB

Answer Hello Bob. Yes, that is the instructions from the manufacture. The control panel and the front panel will need to be removed from the front of the unit. I have replaced these pumps from under the washer. You will need to lean the washer backwards and brace it so it does not fall and go through the hole in the bottom to do it that way. However, it is much easier to replace through the front, but you have to disassemble the washer to do it through the front.
My washers drain pump cycles off and on about ten times before the spin cycle starts is that normal? Each cycle is only a few seconds and only pulls a little bit of water each time, but it will empty the drum. How do I get the drain pump out? Can I put the washer on its side and do it that way?

Answer Hello Bob. It is normal for the pump DC96-01700A to cycle on and off before the spin cycle. This is the way samsung has programed the control board, and prevents the pump from over heating in the unit as well. Disconnect the power and remove the top panel. 1. Seperate the Front-frame and remove two M12
nuts. 2. Separate the Clamp of the hose connected to
the Drain-Motor and remove the screw. 3. Separate the wire connector. If the washing machine works, drain the water
in the wash tub by selecting the Spin course.
If the washing machine does not work, remove
the laundry from the wash tub and scoop the
remaining water out of the tub using a cup. Remove the pump from the unit.
