My equipment cool inside but the frame around the doors are hot all the time.
Answer Hello Alba. Make sure the condenser coils are clean and the condenser fan motor is good on the unit.
Fridge coils freeze up and block air flow in refrigerator vents. Unplugged to defrost and works fine for a couple of days but freezes up again. Fan works fine. Do you think the problem is the heater. I see I can purchase this fairly reasonably for this model. Could it have an additional problem? Thermostat or other?
Thanks for your help,
Answer Hello Rob. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
18 cft Frigidaire freezer freezing up and fridge not cooling.
Answer Hello Joe,
You will want to check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running. IF you have impacted evaporator coils then you will want to check for continuity on the defrost thermostat 5303917954 and defrost heater 3206453. If one shows open then replace. If they both check ok then you will need to replaced defrost timer 215846602.
