Ice maker wasn't working. No activity in the module. Replaced the module and still there is no cycling. Am I to assume that there is no power to the module or that the water valve is not functioning?
Answer Hello ED. Press the button under the head of the icemaker and see if the icemaker cycles and dumps the ice. If the icemaker cycles, and there is no water, replace the valve DA74-40149D. If there is no power to the icemaker, you will need to replace the main PCB. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I need instuctions on how to replace part# AP4165558 ? Thank you for your help
Answer Hi Jerry. Turn the unit off. Pull out the unit and the plug. Remove the back. Turn off the water line at the house wall or supply. Then unbolt the old water valve. Pay attention to the water valve wire connectors so you will correctly install them on the new water valve, part # DA74-40149D. Then remove the water lines at the valve. There are 2 - separate size lines. One is a 1/4 " , the other is a 5/16 " Line. They only hook up to the corresponding new water valve/ solenoid assy. Then reassemble. Thank You.
