The door on my dishwasher does not stay open, (I used to be able to open it and the door would go down all the way and stay). Now it will only open and the door will not go down all the way unless I have the trays pulled out weighing it down. The dishwasher is still cleaning great. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

The door springs are adjustable. Remove the kick panel and look to each side. The springs are readily visible, although you may not be able to see the slots that the springs fit into. There are normally 7 to 9 slots for the door spring adjustments. These are actually put on the units so if a decorative panel to match the cabinets is installed and the door is a lot heavier, the springs can be adjusted and keep the door from dropping like a rock. If there are slots toward the front of the unit in front of the slot the springs are now installed in, the springs can be moved to the slots closer to the front to make the door pull shut less aggressively.

Door on dishwasher will NOT lock, also lock LIGHT will not go on.

Answer Hello Pete. You will need to check and see if the actuator 8524471 is not broken on the unit. The lock light does not come on on the units when the door is closed. It only comes on when the control panel is locked out on the unit. Also, check and make sure the strike 8269111 is not bent on the unit and causing the unit not to close properly.
The control lock light is on and will not go out following the reset procedure. Could the door latch, which you have to play with to get to close, be the problem?

Answer Len, The more likely issue is a faulty keypad on the conmtrol panel 8531248. " PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING > Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. > Check keypad. > Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys. > Check control." The door latch and switches may need to be aligned or adjusted, you'll be able to check them when you replace the control panel., but that's the least likely issue at this point. Good Luck and Thanks
Water does not enter into tub. Float and input valve/solenoid appear OK. Voltage to input valve/solenoid is 102VAC. Should it be 120VAC? Does that mean that one of the relays is bad on the main board (Whirlpool 8267371 AP3775964)? If it is a bad relay, can you identify which of 3-relays the bad one is? Thanks, --Allen

Answer Allen, Power to the fill valve solenoid (120 VAC) is supplied through the K3 relay on the control board, on the blue/black wire, down to the float switch, through the float switch and into the solenoid coil. The brown wire at the solenoid is routed up to the control board to the P2pin3 wire and completes the circuit to the neutral leg through the control board circuitry at the P7 white wire. Due to libility and safety reasons the manufacturer and APP Do Not reccomend you attempt to rebuild or repair a printed circuit board. At 102 VAC to the fill valve, check and make sure there are no loose wires or connections in thw wiring we mentioned and repalce the control board if all's OK. Thanks and Good Luck

Answer Hello Sherry. If your unit no longer lights up or functions the first thing you would want to check is that you are getting power to the appliance. If you are, it is possible your thermal fuse, 8193762, has failed.
