My whirlpool portable washer will agitate during wash cycle, but it will not stay spinning during the spin cycle. It will start to spin, then wobble a bit and stop over and over. Then it will not spin at all. It did have a small leak underneath prior to this happening ? Any solution?
Answer Hi Steve. The first thing to do is to remove the power and find the leak. Use a flashlight and look at the tub seal/bearing part # 3968381 at the bottom center where the transmission shaft enters the tub. If there is any brown nasty water throw off there and all the bottom half of the inner cabinet Then you know this is a issue. Then look at the pump part # 285948 to see if it is leaking. Is it the tub -to -pump hose (Sump hose) leaking part # 3429900. The drain hose is part # 3430161. The corrugated hose will flex and may eventually leak. There is a overflow hose that goes up the back of the tub part # 3966238. Check the water valve part # 3967755 also. There are 2- different type of suspension rods. One that is bowed is part # 3935137. You will need 2 of them. The straight ones are part # 3935136. You will need 2 of them also. You will need to lift the top up to get to these parts. also at the top of the tub at each corner there are rubber straps part # 3967051. These tend to break and give you an out of balance and then the board will shut down on purpose. Thank You.
when my washer is in the spin cycle after rinsing it makes a constant noise and every few seconds a loud jarring noise like the agitator is getting jammed or stuck on something. what can i do?
Answer Clyde, At this point, without a model number, and with a "one piece" agitator, I would suggest you remove the agitator and the tub cover. Remove the tub spanner nut 21366 with the wrench TJ90TB123A and the spin basket and check the drum drive block 389140 for rounded out keyways on the inside of the block and worn out tabs on the top of the spin tube 64208. These are the components that would make the type of noise you describe in your post. Thanks and Good Luck
How do I remove and replace the agitator. I want to remove string like items that are wrapping around the agitator shaft.
Answer Hello A.W.S. Remove the cap off the top of the agitator [AP3842462. Then remove the blot in the center of the agitator. Once the bolt is removed, the agitator lifts upward and off of the shaft. Hope this helps.
Washer will spin but wont agitate. I put a new coupling in and it still wont agitate. What do I need to do now?
Answer Hello Debbie. If the motor runs, but the agitator does not agitate, you will need to check and see if the dogs are bad inside the agitator. Turn the agitator by and and see if it moves back and forward. If so, you will need to replace the cam kit. Hope this helps.
