Washer agitator does not move around but if i put pressure on it, it turns and agitates like its supposed to.
Would I need a new agitator for this?
Answer Hello Phil. Check and see if the splines in the agitator 22004042 are stripped. If so, it will cause the unit to do as described. If the splines are good in the agitator, you will need to replace the transmission 35-6615 in the unit. Hope this helps.
I want to remove a broken agitator. I removed the bolt down in the agitator but it wont come of. Is there a any thing else holding the agitator?
Answer Hello Lou. No, once the bolt is removed, you will pull the agitator 22004042 from the bottom, upward to remove it from the spline in the unit. Hope this helps.
hello again, we tried what you said and the problem with the washer is this.... its fills with water(no problem) it starts to agitate for about 10 seconds and then shuts down.. no humming noise, no smell. It will spin it spin out too.. please
Answer Lee, a couple of things you want to check, First the lid and lid switch assembly, make sure the lid is not loose and "wobbly" or bent. Check and make sure the plunger makes proper contact with the lid switch assembly, and theres no loose wiring. When you say "shuts down, no humming noise, no smell" would lead me to think you have a bad timer contact 22004298 if everything else checks OK. Thanks and Good Luck
MY WASHER WITH FILL WITH WATER AND SPIN BUT, ONCE IT STARTS TO AGITATE IT SHUTS OFF. WHAT COULD THIS BE?
Answer Hi Lee. It sounds like you need a motor part # 21001950. This is if it is humming and shutting down. Remove the belts and see if the motor works then. Is there burnt lower thrust bearing kit part # 12002213 or the belts part # 22003483. If all these check OK. Then push down hard ion the agitator before it shuts down to see if there is a loud grinding noise coming from the transmission. If so then you will need a transmission. Part # 35-6615. Thank you.
WE cant get the clothes spinned dry enough and the agitator wont tighten enough. Could it be the barons?
Answer Joyce, Does the washer make a squealing or growling noise when it does spin, If not it's not likely a bearing. yopu most likely need to replace the thrust bearing kit 12002213 and a belt 22003483 When these parts wear out the spin speed slows down. Or you may have something stuck between the tubs. As far as a loose agitator, the upper "auger" portion of the agitator will turn(in one direction) and may appear loose. Thanks and good Luck
Does the agitator/upper/lower come apart?
Answer Hello Michael! Yes, the upper and lower agitator will separate. You will need to stand on the bottom portion of the agitator and pull up. This may be a little bit difficult and may require alot of force. Thanks.
