I have a question that is similar to others, however I have tried to do some troubleshooting to find the correct answer. The shaft moves throughout the cycle, it moves back and forth during the wash cycle. The washer has no problem in the fill, rinse or spin cycle. However during the wash cycle it is making a load grinding noise. The agitator can be turned to the left by hand but not the right. However during the wash cycle if a small bit a pressure is applied to the top agitator it will stop spinning to the left it will to the right and the bottom agitator moves left and right without stopping. The noise appears to be coming from below the basket. Any idea or solutions would be great. Thanks

Machine is operating normally, but after water is in and begins to agitate, it make a loud banging like noise as it agitates. Any ideas? Sometimes it squeals loudly when it stops too.

How can I verify that my agitator assembly is two parts? I have a Maytag Atlantis MAV6300AWW. I've tried everything to pop off the top part and the description for the assembly indicates it's two parts. If so, is there another way to remove the top part so I can change the dogs? It's been soaking in hot water for 15 hrs and it just won't come loose.

My washer is sometimes not finishing the final spin cycle and thus leaves some water in the tub. This problem does not happen all the time, only some of the times. Also, I have noticed a lot of black dust under the washing machine. Need ideas about what to look for and repair. Thnaks.

My Agitator does not spin when there are clothes in the washer. I have traced this to the fact that I can "easily" lift off the top half of the agitator so I have access to the bolt that holds the lower half of agitator to the transmission. Since I can pull it off easly, when it turns and pushes the clothes down, it just pops the upper half of the agitator off and hence, no longer pushes the clothes down. Do I need to replace the entire agitator? Ken
