Should the agitator shaft have any sideways play in it?

The washer works washes great , spinns great , but when the spin fininshes,it stays spinning for a few more seconds with a loud knock knock knock ,till the spin stopped.

Answer Hello Greg. Check and make sure the drive block 389140 is not broke or worn in the unit. If not, then you will need to replace the clutch assembly 285785. Hope this helps.

I checked the springs and all spring are there and none are broke. I used a lever to balance the washing machine, yet it bounces violently even without a load on the spin cycle.
