The top shelf area of the refigerator is not cooling well. It seems to be cool enough on the bottom half. Is there a fan up top behind the diffuser that may need to be replaced?

You will want to check to make sure that the diffuser is operating properly as the unit does not have a fan behind the diffuser. You will want to check to make sure that there is no ice building in the diffuser area that would cause the unit to not have air flow. Also check to make sure that the fan in the freezer compartment is running.
How do you remove the Air Diffuser Assembly from the frig wall?

1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. 2. Remove the mounting screw and wire channel from the top of the refrigerator compartment. 3. Remove the mounting screw and air baffle... more cover.4. Locate the air chute in the top of the freezer compartment. NOTE: For models in which the ice maker is turned for ice in the door, pull the ice maker forward and remove it from the product. 5. Remove the air chute mounting screw and cover. Style 1 - Remove the air chute. Then remove the air scoop from the baffle W10151374. Style 2 - Remove the air chute from the baffle. 6. Release the air baffle retaining clips from the freezer compartment and push the air baffle toward the refrigerator compartment.7. Pull the air baffle assembly into the refrigerator compartment and disconnect the wiring connector from the baffle motor.8. Reinstall the baffle assembly in the reverse order. 9. Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power.
Hello and thank you my question! Very low pressure air flows from air diffuser that is behind the control panel. No ice build up is present and the fan is working and from the freezer side it also looks clear? Thanks

Answer Hi Mario. How are your cavity temperatures ? Use a quality thermometer and put the controls at mid point. The freezer should be no colder then 0 to -2°. The fresh food should be between 37° and 47°. Adjust the controls one step per 24 hrs. Once you have established this, then you can remove the control panel complete assy. Look at all mechanical rods and adjustments for binding or breakage. The air diffuser part # is part # W10151374 that is located behind the rear left upper corner where the freezer air enters the cabinet. Thank You.

Answer Hello Joe. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater 2323197 and the defrost thermostat W10225581. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer 4388932. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. Ice is build in up on the air diffuser assembly, it means Ii need to change this part? Or something else could be bad?.I just change the thermistor and bi-metal. Thanks

Answer Hi Richard. Are both controls set mid-way only. If it is too cold in the freezer, then turn it back to 1/2 way setting (0°). Look at the back wall of the freezer. I noticed what you have changed. If the defrost heater is open (w/ohm meter), this part # is 2323198.Please call 1-877-477-7278 A.P.P. Call Center. I just had my refridgerator repaired. The control panel and lite doesnt work ,he said it was ok that the fridge is working ,but said I need the air defuser,which I paid 76.80 and 85.00 labor,plus 69.95 service call. What does this part do ,I feel I've been had.

Answer Hi Tim. The control box/panel controls the panel and light. It is part # 2255223. The air diffusser is the air damper assembly that allows a certian amount of air is normally let into the fresh food from the freezer fan assembly. Then behind the crisper drawer is the air return duct as the normal SxS air circulation is clockwise. Thank you.
On the diffuser to the ref. side, how can you check to make sure it is fully open?
