How do you remove the 8545533 vent assembly? Your video on replacing the detergent dispenser is very helpful. Thanks for your answer.
Answer Hello Joe. Inside the door panel you will see the round vent grill. You twist that to remove it from the panel and to remove the air vent from the door.
Does the drying 'vent' have a small blower in it? Or does the power only operate an open/close solenoid?
I ask because I do not see moisture 'blowing' out of it, it is venting, but not blowing, just trickles out with convection.
I'm fixing to tear the door off, to replace the air intake at the bottom, as the old one has cracked with age. That sounds like way too much fun, fraught with failure, so I thought I'd check on the vent, so, if necessary, I could replace it and get an 'easy win', as that looks pretty straightforward!
Thanks for any help!
The vent assembly motor just opens and closes the door of the vent. There is no motor inside of the vent.
Dish washer will not stop running, replaced door switch, circuit board, control panel and fuse block so far.
Answer Hello Wade. You need to check the heater in the unit and make sure your bringing hot water into the unit. If it is good, test the wiring going to the element to see if it is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
What is a wax motor?
Answer Hello Myself. The motor on the right side of the part picture. It is a black square box with blue writing.
Is it possible to test the wax motor?
Answer Hello Karl. Yes, you can test the resistance on a wax motor, or you can test for power coming to the wax motor. If there is power there and the vent 8545533 does not work properly, replace the vent assembly. Hope this helps.
