Does it have a stainless steel screw?
Answer Hello Larry! No, the baffle 8540360 does not include the screw. For the screw order part number 3196427. Thanks!
How do I get to the screw that holds the baffle p/n 8540360 on this model washer and do I need to purchase the screw separately.
To get to the screw you would need to pull the tub out and when you look into the large drain opening you may be able to access that screw. If you cannot get to it this way then you will have to take the tub assembly apart to get to it. You should be able to use the same screw that was in the original baffle.
how do i remove the baffle for this model washer?
Answer Ray, You will need to dismantle the washing machine. We'll be sending you the information you need, so you'll see and understand the requirements. Thanks
The WFW9050XW00 model does not have the hose on the top of the drum when you take the cover off. Can you give instructions for how to get to the screw. Is there a diagram that shows how to separate the tub assembly halves?
Answer Todd, The information you requested is on it's way. You're on the right track, if you have a damaged baffle in the drum, you will need to separate the tubs to replace the baffle. You didn't mention any specific issue. Thanks
How do I remove the baffle to replace the part?
Answer Hello Alice. Remove the top off the washer and there is a black hose in the top of the outer tub. You will remove this hose and see if you can access the baffle screw. If so, you can remove the screw, and the baffle 8540360 will slide out of the tub assembly. If not, you will need to remove the tub assembly from the unit, and separate the two halves to access the screw and change the baffle. Hope this helps.
