The tension wheel on the belt always squeeks. What oil or greese should you use to stop this?
Answer They do not recommend using oil or grease on these. It comes with lubricant made into the bearing. You will need to order a new wheel.

When the dryer is running it makes a loud squealing sound almost a screech, or high pitched grinding sound. would this be the tensioner pulley going out?
Answer Fred, Yes, a high speed high pitched squealing or screeching noise is usually due to a worn idler pulley Y54414. There are other possibilities, but the idler is most likely. When you have the machine dismantled, you would also want to remove the drum rollers and clean and lubricate the roller shafts and wheel bearings with high speed turbine oil as a preventive measure.
Ordered an new idler pulley and belt for this dryer. The new idler pulley is differant with no deeper grove on one side. The belt jumps off when using it. If I install the old idler pulley it works fine but still sqeeks. Any sugestions?
Based on the model number of your dryer the idler pulley would be part number 37001144 which shows that it does have the groove that you are referring to on one side. If this is the part that you ordered then you may want to use a silicone grease to grease the idler roller shaft.
Best way to install tension pulley for dryer belt?
Answer Hello Jay. You will need to access the pulley are and remove the clip securing the pulley to the shaft. Then slide off the old one and slide the new pulley Y54414 onto the shaft of the unit.
The new idler wheel does not match the profile of the original. As the picture shows the surface the belt rides is flat, the original has the face stepped down to accommodate the narrow width the drive belt. Will the wider surface cause problems resulting with the belt jumping off the idler?
Answer Michael, As long as the belt is correct,(3/8 in wide and five(5) grooves) there will not be an issue with the belt fitting the idler pulley. You do want to check and make sure the original pulley is not distored from an alignment issue due to loose nuts and bolts, and bent or distorted parts. Good Luck and Thanks
Is there a locking clip to secure the idler pulley to the shaft? I didn't find one on my dryer.
Answer Hello Paul. Yes, you will need to use the retaining ring 23748 to hold the pulley on the shaft. Hope this helps.
