Hi. Our dryer is making huge noise and .....I found out part of blow wheel inside of venting tube. Do you think replace blow wheel would solve the problem? Thanks.
Answer JunI N, Yes you'd want to replace the blower wheel as soon as possible. The off center rotation will put a lot more stress on the motor and bearings and cause a premature failure. You'll also want to clear any debris that has accumulated in the housing and exhaust pipe.
There are two blower wheels listed for this model--ap2997251 and ap2910465. Other than the price, what is the difference between the two?
Answer David, our site only reflects one listed compatible blower wheel for the given model. According to the model number given the blower wheel listed for your appliance is part number 694089. Unfortunately, we do not have the specs available to determine the difference in the two inquired blower wheels. Thanks.
The dryer shuts down after gets too hot. The motor is only two years old. Could it be that the blower wheel is clogged with lint, causing the shutdown? The dryer is quiet when running.
It is very possible that the blower wheel could have lint built up on it which would cause the issue but also check the venting to the outside of your home as this can be a possible cause as well.
Does not blow hot air out the back, gets clothes hot and tumbles, just doesn't blow out the back. What could this be?
Answer Hello Jimmy. You will need to remove the front panel of the dryer and see if the pulley on the top of the blower wheel has come off. If so, replace the pulley and nut and use thread locker to install it.
Can't break the plastic fan loose off the motor shaft. I tried what it said by turning the motor shaft clockwise while holding the impeller. Doesn't seem to work, any ideals?
Answer Hi Howie. The blower wheel is part # 694089. As the old saying goes "use a bigger hammer" you can get a 12" long chisel and careful split the wheel in half from the center out. Be care full as to not even get close to the motor shaft. Then hold the belt pulley end of the motor shaft tight as you re-thread the new blower wheel on. Thank you.
How do you get to the belt on the drum?
Answer Hello Sam. Disconnect the power to the dryer. Remove the screws under the lint filter. Then release the clips under the front corners of the cabinet, and raise the top of the dryer. Unplug the door switch, and remove the screws holding the front panel on the dryer. Pull the front panel forward, and lift the front panel off the dryer. You can now access the belt for replacement. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
