Will the bracket control #2180226 replace #2180228 in a Kenmore. Thanks
Answer Hello Freddie,
You are correct that these two are the same part.
How do you replace the bracket where the micro switches for the ice dispenser. The bracket holds the switches for the ice dispenser and water.
To replace the bracket for the dispenser you will need to remove the drip tray. If you look at the bottom of the dispenser cover below where the drip tray is there will be 2 slots that you place a flat blade screwdriver into and pry one side loose at a time. Remove the cover and the bracket is right there to be removed.
Water runs slow what would be the fix, has a good water supply with no leaks or kinks.
You will want to pull the water filter out and check to see if the water pressure increases. If the pressure increases then you will need to replace the water filter.
Will not make ice, will not dispense water at the door BUT it DOES dispense ice. Replaced water solenoid valve assembly with no improvement. Appears it is not getting any power or call for water to the valve assembly?
Answer Hello Randy,
You may want to pull filter out of unit and see if you are getting water with filter out. If you are getting water with filter out then it would be a bad filter. If not then you will want to check the bracket to make sure that the bracket is not broken on the dispenser side. Since you said that it is not making ice or giving water check the filter first and check to make sure water did not get shut off at the back of unit.
(Not getting ice thru door).....Refrigerator makes ice ok. Bucket fills ok. Checked for blockage. None. Water thru door works fine. The only sound I here is the flap opening & Closing. No motor sound. Any Ideas? I purchased a new auger motor, and its on its way. But i'm being to think that may not be the problem. And once I open the bag. I wont be able to return it.
Answer Hello John,
Before replacing the motor you should check to see if the dispenser bracket is broken. If you use a flat blade screwdriver and slide it into the groover under the bottom of the trim on dispsenser. You can pop the dispenser cover off and look to see if the bracket 2180226, where the switch is, is broken. If broken then this would be the cause and not the motor.
