My dryer is not heating. The ignitor clicks on and glows orange and cuts off but no blue flame appears. I have replaced the split coils but the problem remains. Is this my gas valve that is the problem? The gas to the dryer is fine and the venting system is fine as well.
Answer Hello Shannon,
You would want to check your main coil. Let the unit cycle 4 or 5 times and then check resistance of the 2 pin main coil. You should read 1000 ohms. If you do not have 1000 ohms then you need to replace main coil 279834. If you do have the 1000 ohms then you would need to replace the safety valve 8318277.
Dryer sparked by timer then just quit. Now nothing happens , is it the timer? Checked power source and its ok.
Answer Hello Jeff. If the spark came from the timer, and not a bad wire, you will need to order and replace the timer in the unit.
My dryer flame ignites for about 10 seconds then shuts off. It will wait about 15 seconds or so then re ignite then shut off in about 5 seconds and shut off. It continues in this fasion. What part do you think I need?
Answer Hello Kenya. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps.
Dryer is functioning perfectly but does not heat. Can you help me?
Answer Hello Vickie.
You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures.
