Does this require new gaskets or other parts not included?
Answer The volute seal is included. No other parts should be needed if this only is defective on your appliance.

no circulation of water in diswasher possible need circuatintion pump, how much for part viking diswasher
Answer Hello Craig! The part number for the circulation pump is PD140016. The manufacturer has discontinued this part and has no compatible substitution. Thanks!
Dishwasher is not getting dishes clean and heating element seems to be very hot during wash (more steam than usual coming from door vent, "sizzles" if I open the door mid-cycle and water hits it). Never really paid attention to how hot it gets before so this might be normal. Also, seem to be running slightly louder than normal with a "swoosh" sound every 3-4 seconds. Again, don't really pay attention to the sound when it works so this may always be the case! Drains fine. Not sure if its a temp control issue with the heating element that is steaming away the water, or a circulation pump issue that is not putting enough water on the heating element.
Answer Tom, You're very close to correct. The issue is most likely lack of water in the tub. This will allow the heater to seem extremely hot, and reduces the wash ability, and effectiveness of the detergent. Try this, start the dishwasher on a regular wash cycle, allow the machine to fill and wash for 5 minutes. Unlatch the door, remove the lower rack and look at the water level in the bottom of the tub. The water level should be within 1/8 inch of the bottom of the heater element, if not, the water level is too low and causing the issue. In most cases, it requires the replacement of the water inlet valve W10648041
I purchased a new pump for my Kitchenaid KUDI01FLSS2. Now it is installed it only starts when you press the cancel button and no water flows inside dishwasher. I am stuck.
Answer Hello Kelvin,
Check the flood switch and float. If it is in the "up" position, it turns power off to everything but the drain pump. If this is good, double check that you turned the water back on. If you did, check the wiring connections to the water valve.
After reading other questions, I see mine is similar, but your answers aren't specific enough for my concerns!
Hopefully I can get clear answers...
After disassembling the unit and cleaning the chopper assembly (for the 4th time in as many weeks), I notice the impeller gear (black plastic) on the pump is badly worn.
After inspection, the O-ring could use replacing, the Circulation pump works well and is quiet, the strainer/chopper does not appear to be damaged. (I'm currently running the unit w/o the chopper/strainer installed.)
What's the best value: the entire assembly AP4434617 or just the Pump AP4434021 ?
Do you sell part #22 in either exploded view in your parts diagram?
Also, I've noticed that the timer for the wash cycles is often running long (stuck on 42 minutes for much longer than 42 minutes) is the circuit board suspect? Do you sell that as well?
Answer Hello Map. Assembly is the best and is what you need to order. As for the 42 issue, check the heater and the thermostat. If good, replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
