Does this require new gaskets or other parts not included?

Answer The volute seal is included. No other parts should be needed if this only is defective on your appliance.

The pump motor has failed on my unit. I plan to order the complete pump housing/motor assembly. Are there any other parts I should also order to assure successful repair?
Joe for Model Number kuds01flss3
Answer Hello Joe,
If the pump you are replacing is the circulation pump, it is well worth the money to order the complete assembly W10239405. The headaches involved with repeated teardowns and the parts that get damaged during the repeated process make the investment a sound one. There should be no other parts needed since it comes with the gasket and is ready to install. When putting the assembly in, lubricate the gasket with liquid soap and the installation will go much smoother.
I have just ordered the circulation pump and motor assembly. Will I have to remove the dishwasher unit from under the cabinet to install the new parts?
Steve for Model Number KUDK01ILBS6
Answer Hello Steve,
Yes, you will have to remove the unit from its' installation unless you can reach the rear sump tab W10300599 and get it properly installed. This is one part you definitely do not want to come out since if it were to come out, water would go into the floor.
How to install the three (3) clips that hold the circulation pump and motor assembly
John A. for Model Number Kitchenaid #KUDIO1IL
Answer John, The three(3) sump tabs are inserted into the openings on the side of the sump( but you first have to make sure you have the sump aligned in the tub opening, there's a location "key" molded into the sump housing. The tabs are wedge shaped, and as you press them into the opening, they create tension and cause the pump seal to seat an seal to the tub. You need to press them in as tight and far as possible by hand, no tools needed.
The water flow out through the door when washing. Do I need the pump or is it another problem.
Bibi S for Model Number over 50 yrs old kitchen dish washer
Answer Hello Bibi,
You would want to check to make sure that your spray arms are not cracked or broken.
My DW would not run a complet cycle and made a noise when it was trying to work.I took out the grinder blade and screen and cleaned it as it was clogged with lots of stuff. Once clean, the blade and screen appeared to be fine so I replaced it and put the machine back together. Now the machine will complete the washing cycle now but few if any of the dishes get clean. Is it possible that the pump motor is shot?
Mike L for Model Number KUDR01TJ
Answer Mike, The motor is OK, it's the impeller that may be "shot" . Before you replace anything, check and make sure the dishwasher drains properly and completely, The water level in the tub, when started, and after a 3 to 5 minute wash cycle, should be within 1/4 inch of the heater element,at the least. If alls OK, then replace the motor pump assembly W10239405
