No water comes out when lever is activated...but power does get to the water inlet switch/solenoid(checked with a voltage tester so I at least now the switch is good.
Also recently my ice maker quit making ice. How do I know if that valve/solenoid is bad or if the ice maker itself is bad?
Answer Hello Mark. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Kitchenaid freezer on bottom not cooling, what can it be?
Answer Hello Repairman,
We can happily provide you with repair assistance with more information. We at least need the model number and a better description of the complaint. Have a great day!
My Maytag s by s icemaker stopped working and we noticed a burning smell. A couple times when the freezer door was opened, the red led light on right side in freezer is flashing twice. Is it the fuse or do I need the whole icemaker?
Answer Hi Alman. Two - flashes of the optics mean there can be dirt in the optics, or blocking of the optics along with the optics's bad themselves. If you smelled a burning then check the boards (emitter and receiver) for damage. Part # is 4389102. Thank You.
one Ice cube jammed in ice maker I removed it but now it does not make Ice I did not take it apart yet. Can You guesstimate what might be the problem before I take it apart?
Answer Joseph, When you open the freezer door, is the "LED" light on the right side wall on solid or flashing ? That will tell us if there is a sensor issue, if the light has a two pulse flashing pattern. If its on solid, Then, your problem could be in the fuse of the ice maker harness or the icemaker control head 2198597 . Thanks and Good Luck
Where is it located at?
Answer Hello. It is located on the bottom of the icemaker. Hope this helps.
