Washer doesnt spin at the correct speed, it spins but about half normal speed. Clothes are not as dry as they used to be after thr spin cycle. What causes this?
Answer HiDale. Is the timer making a noise, it is part # 3954563. Lift the washer up and support it. Is there black dust and plastic under the center of the washer? If so the motor is part # 285753A. It goes in between the motor and the transmission. You can loosen the back bottom end cap (control panel) screws and lift up and flip the control backwards. Then unclasp the lid switch. Open the lid and place your hand at the 6:00 position and lift the cabinet up and off the frame. Then Unclasp the top tub ring. Then use a flashlight to inspect in between the inner and outer tub for any balled up clothes that is slowing down the tub spinning. If this is clear, you need to see if the there is a nail dragging from a inner wash basket hanging out of a hole and dragging on the outer tub (inner part of). If all this is clear, the clutch band assy. part # is 285790. Also the motor switch is part # 8529896. It may have a bad connection or a bad inner switch contacts. Thank You.
If the washer don't sling all the water out, what might be my problem?
Answer Hello Clark. If the clutch 285785 is bad on the unit, it will cause it to slow spin or no spin at all. Also check the motor coupling 285753A and make sure it is not broke. Hope this helps.
If this part is worn will it make the washer spin slow?
Answer Hello Rick. Yes, if the clutch 285790 is worn, it will cause the unit to spin very slow or not any at all. Hope this helps.
I really only need the brake cam driver. Is this available by itself?
Answer Hello Rich. The only way to get the brake cam criver is with the lining kit 285790 or the clutch assembly 285785. Hope this helps.
