We went to replace the heat element and there was a spark, now we have no electric to the stove, did we short something out, or do you think the control panel went?
Answer Hello Jim. If you didn't disconnect the power to the unit before removing the element, you shorted the control board and will need to replace the control board in the unit.
My control electric stop working with all the elements but still light in the oven. Changed the control electric in Dec.2010 .Do I need to change the control again?
Answer Hello Maria. You need to check and see if there is 240 volts coming to the unit and if there is any wires burnt or bad at the terminal block of the unit. The light will work on 120 volts, but nothing else will work in the heating. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
The latch for the self cleaning feture does not operate when pressing the appropiate buttons on oven control panel AP 4396710. Could it be the control panel which is no longer available (I hope not) or should it be the latch itself? Does the latch item 22 - AP 4088630 come with the button item 38 ?
Answer Steve, Yes, the door switch #38 71002904 comes with the door latch assembly #22 71001845, but, Since the motor doesn't run, and you didn't mention an error code(s), your first check needs to be at the oven door switch 71001129 located on the right upper area of the oven cavity opening. If that switch or the wires are disconnected or damaged, the neutral circuit to the motor is "open" ,and the motor won"t run. Thanks and Good Luck
In baking it goes along fine then shuts down flashing F3. Thanks.
Answer Hello David. Based on the code you provided, the oven sensor 12001656 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
