Bottom Oven Broil element seems to be OK but... bake element? Oven temp only gets to @290 degrees.... New element or what else might it be.....
Answer Hello Bob. You will need to test the lower oven bake element 7406P428-60 and see if it reads closed for continuity. If it is open, you will need to replace the bake element.
The "on indicator" light stays on all the time. All of the burners work normally and the oven works as it should also. Thanks.
Answer Hello Pete,
One of the infinite switches has failed. To determine which one, you have to disconnect, (one at a time), the terminal marked "P". The "P" stands for pilot and this is the part of the switch that indicates that an element is still hot. When you do this be sure to discontinue power to the unit each time before touching any of the terminals. Don't forget as these terminals have 120Vac on them all of the time. When the bad infinite switch gets it's "P" terminal unplugged, the light will go out.
Maytag double oven sets itself to Broil-HI randomly. Cancel and it will repeat in just a matter of minutes...
Answer Hello Drew. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the control board W10166967. Hope this helps.
I too have a CANCEL button issue. It seems to be stuck. Is there a way to pop it out? I feel a click with all the other buttons but not with the CANCEL button for the upper oven.
Answer Ron, If there is no resistance when a button is pressed, thats an indication of a failure of the button assembly, under the overlay. You will need to replace the ERC/Clock W10166967 to repair the unit properly. Thanks and Good Luck
Bottom oven element does not work, replaced element ,still don't work. Both elements have continuity. What else could it be? Thanks.
Answer Hi Kevin. Remove power. Remove the back. Find a round thermostat with 2- wires attached in the middle area of the lower oven. Jump out these wires. Use electrical tape around the wires so you can momentarily test now with power. If it works then replace the thermostat part # 74009969. Did it stop working during or after a self-clean? If so you need to consider replacing the oven sensor as they have been updated also to withstand the self clean temperatures and last considerably longer. This sensor will ohm out to 1080 ohms to 1100 ohms., rotate the wires during testing as to test for an open or short. Thank You. Let us know if this works because the last part is that the clock/control needs replaced. Clock Part # W10166967. Chances are though as both elements are not working, it will not be the clock as both bake and broil relay should send 120 vac respectively during demands. Usually just the bake relay wears out sooner as it is used mostly. Thank You.
