The primary cooktop element of the 4 cooktop elements does not function properly. It cycles on and off, and generally will only heat up by running on high. Is there a controller / regulator for this heating element and how do you replace it?
Answer Hello Eric,
The element itself would have to be replaced as it is the limiter that has failed causing the element to continuously cycle. To replace you would open oven door and take out 1 screw on either side, Lift up on top and slide forward. Disconnect harness connector at the back and turn cooktop over. When replacing element pay attention to which numbers the clips are attached to so that when you put it back on they will be in the same position.
Maytag Gemini double electric oven. Everything works except top oven bake. Control board is only sending 110v to one side. Other side reads 0v. Does the control board need to be replaced? Bake element is fine.
Answer Hello John. When you tested the voltage did you go from wire to ground on each side? Also, if you tested between both wires you should be getting 240v. If everything else works fine as you stated then it could be a bad relay in the control board W10166967.
Bottom Oven Broil element seems to be OK but... bake element? Oven temp only gets to @290 degrees.... New element or what else might it be.....
Answer Hello Bob. You will need to test the lower oven bake element 7406P428-60 and see if it reads closed for continuity. If it is open, you will need to replace the bake element.
