My front center section on my refrig was getting very warm so I had a tech come out who explained that the fan was weak and not cooling the bottom part of refrig and replaced the motor with a Sub Zero which cooled it right down and yes it was quite as well. Ten days later the problem reappeared and the same tech came out and said it was my control board was bad and it needs to be sent off for repair, #W10219463 so he hardwired the fan so it would be on all the time till I could shut the Refrig down for a week while the process was completed. Q1# will the fan on all the time hurt anything? Q2# Changing the fan to a Sub Zero blow the board? Q3# If I buy or have it repaired where do I plug the fan in since he hardwired it? Let me know Thanks

Just recently, a high pitch whining sound has developed. The sound goes away when the refrigerator door is opened as the light/control display comes on. It will start back up again when the light/control display panel is off, even if the door is open, if the door light switch is not activated. Whether the compressor is on or off does not seem to make any difference. The noise sounds like a slightly fainter version of the beeping sound when the temperature control buttons are pushed, but it's a constant sound, not a beep. I've also tried turning off the switch on the control panel and tried opening and closing the refrigerator door. When the panel is off, the noise is no longer there. Opening and closing the refrigerator door when the panel is turned off does not make any difference, there's no noise. The noise only seems to be there when the panel is on and when the panel is not lit. The refrigerator and freezer seem to be working fine as everything still stays cold. I tried turning off the main switch behind the grill cover (per Kitchen Aid's instruction when I called them, waiting 10 minutes before turning back on to see if it helps) and the problem still persists. The noise stays consistently on for the most part, but every once in a while, it will go silent. And then a bit later, it turns back on again. Just recently, The compressor has started to cycle on and off repeatedly. Also, at times, the display panel will not display correctly. It will intermittently flicker and sometimes not come on at all. Then it will go back to normal. Please advise which parts you think are broken and the possible remedy. Thank you.

I have kitchenaid side by side fridge, It stopped cooling and the start to beep every 2 seconds. After searching, I opened the box to where the compressor is and I notice the fan is not working. I pulled out the computer board w10219463, removed the fan relay and bypass the power to the fan. The fan start to work, the compressor is working but still not cooling. The board also still beeping. My question is if the fan is working and the compressor is working, it should be cooling? where else to look? I am concern of sending the board to be repaired wait for 3 weeks and it is not the problem.

Cannot seem to locate part W10219463 for our built in KitchenAid Fridge/Freezer. A repair man was dispatched and said to unplug and call back if the fridge doesn't work. We did only to be told that you can't get the part any more. Any thoughts in how we can get a part/service in Canada would be helpful. Thank you. Stephen

I've been having trouble with the fridge staying cold for the last few months. I had a tech come out, we did all the diagnostic tests, and he ultimately told me that the main board (part# W10219463) needed to be replaced, to the tune of $600. He said that the board was no longer manufactured and had to be rebuilt. After further discussion he said that when they rebuild the boards, all they do is replace the relays. So I decided to buy the relays and replace them myself. I found the exact relays for a couple bucks each and replaced them, no problem. However, the unit still does not function properly. Now the alarm sounds continuously. Relays click, the condensor goes on, but there is no display or only a quick flash of the display when powering on. Are there other parts on the board that might be causing this that I can replace, or is it even the board at all? Should I just send in the board to get rebuilt at this point? Thanks for any help and advice.

I have a Kitchenaid Built-in. The lights come on but nothing else. There is a beep every few seconds (faint) and nothing is working. Power comes to the invertor box and then to the compressor. What part do I need to replace?

Model KSSC42QMS01 Fridge. For the first few days of operation all is ok. Within a week the evaporator freezes over so that the fridge side becomes warm and freezer stays cold. The blend door is open. So far the electronic control board, the bi metal, the heater element, evaporator fan, condensor fan, and pc power board supply(on top of unit) have been replaced. The problem persists. I feel that the contol board (new one as well as old) is not letting the unit go into defrost.

Compressor wouldn't run and condensor fan wouldn't run. I repalced inverter box and the compressor ran but not the evaporator or condensor fan. There are two beeps every three or four seconds. I noticed that the evaporator fan tries to spin everytime the board beeps but never takes off even though it gets 12 volts every beep. after a long time the evaporator fan finally spins and the beeping stops and when the evaporator fan finally starts, so does the condensor fan. next time the fridge cycles the evaporator fan fails to start and thus the condensor fan also fails to start and it gets to warm in the fridge again. Does the sound like the other control board is also bad? thanks alot.

The center divider of my side by side is getting very hot and the food on the freezer door is thawing slightly. I replaced the compressor fan with a new one a couple of weeks ago but the problem still exits. I checked on the compressor fan recently and it was not running. The condenser does seem to be running. Should I replace the controller board?
