I have a KitchenAid side by side that will not defrost. I've tested the defrost thermostat (W10225581) and it reads closed when cold and open when warm. Also tested the heater element and it was under 100 ohms. I believe it to be the control board (W10366604). Something else to note is the water filter indicator light flashes green and will not reset. When the defrost thermostat is closed it flashes faster that when it is open. Is this an error code or some kind or just the control board shorting out?

Hi First started with the light bulb quite working. I replaced it and still didn't work. Oh well I figure I can live with that until the refrigerator and freezer quite working and I found that if I hit the area where the controls are it starts and will work for a day and quite again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim

My Whirlpool refrigerator ED2GVEXVD01 has the filter indicatror coonstantly flashing, and the compressor is constantly running. The freezer is cold but the fridge compartment is not. I suspect the control board to be the problem. It is listed in the Whirlpool parts drawing as "Control Board Assembly, Defrost" and P/N W10366605. Your website crosses to P/N AP4981837. Are they plug to plug compatable? Am I on the right track? Big difference in price.

The evaporator fan stays on. I removed the cover from the inside rear of the freezer and noticed ice on the evaporator. I manually defrosted the freezer. The evaporator fan still stays on. The resistance on the fan motor is 40 Ohms. What could be the problem? Thanks!
