LIGHT Bulb in the cooling compartment does not work. I changed the light bulb so I know it's not that. the light bulb is up on top front of the compartment. Help!
Vince Zapata for Model Number KSRG25FKWH03
Answer Hello Vince, check for 120 volts coming to the light socket. If you have power to the socket and a new bulb doesn't come on, replace the socket 4387478. Hope this helps!
How can I check if the Defrost Contro Board (Part #W10366604) is any good? Freezer Works, but Fridge isn't Working.
Marie for Model Number 106.56644500
Answer Hello Marie,
You will want to look in the freezer compartment and remove the rear cover of the freezer. Check to see if the evaporator coil is impacted by frost. If it is then you will want to do a continuity check on the defrost heater and thermostat. If either does not have continuity then replace that part. If they both have continuity then you would need to replace the Defrost control board. If the coils are not impacted then you would want to check the return duct to make sure that it is not clogged with ice. This is located on the left wall of refrigerator section about midway down.
Refrigerator and freezer stopped coolings. Everthing else seems to be working.

Answer Hello Gary,
You would want to check the start relay on the side of the compressor. When you pull the relay off if it rattles then you need a new relay W10189190. If it does not rattle then you would want to do an amp draw on the red or blue wire on the relay wire. It should be red but some are blue. If your amp draw is more than 8.5 then the compressor has failed and you will need new compressor W10233961.

i HAVE A Kitchenaid Superba and just recently my refrigerator/freezer ends up stop working every 5 hours.
it ends up blowing a fuse and I am having to reset the fuse in the fuse box. Can you tell me what would cause this in the refrigerator?
Demetrios E for Model Number KSRG22FKSS04
Answer Demetrios, Under the circumstances, you may want to start by checking the defrost system( heater, thermostat, and control board). The heater and thermostat are located in the freezer compartment, behind the back wall 2323197 W10225581 and the control board is in the control assembly in the fresh food compartment W10366604, This is also where you probably should start. You probably have a short in the board circuitry, causing a short to ground and tripping the circuit breaker.

The fresh food side is running very cold even at the lowest setting. The freezer is running properly. What could be causing this?
Chuck for Model Number ksrb25fkss03
Answer Hello Chuck,
Sounds like you need to replace the diffuser 2209751. This is basically the little trap door that allows the cold from the freezer side to be shared to the fresh food side. If the spring has come off or the device has frost holding the little door in there open, it will turn the entire unit into a freezer.

My Whirlpool refrigerator ED2GVEXVD01 has the filter indicatror coonstantly flashing, and the compressor is constantly running. The freezer is cold but the fridge compartment is not. I suspect the control board to be the problem. It is listed in the Whirlpool parts drawing as "Control Board Assembly, Defrost" and P/N W10366605. Your website crosses to P/N AP4981837. Are they plug to plug compatable? Am I on the right track? Big difference in price.

Answer Hello Dave,
This unit has a defrost timer, not a control board. This unit either has a bad diffuser/damper or the evaporator fan motor has failed. If you hear the freezer fan when you open the door, the evaporator fan motor is good. I would check for a frost build-up on the back freezer wall. If there is no frost, you probably have a sealed system issue. If there is frost on the back wall of the freezer compartment, the unit is experiencing a defrost problem. Let us know what you find and we will go further in that direction.

The evaporator fan stays on. I removed the cover from the inside rear of the freezer and noticed ice on the evaporator. I manually defrosted the freezer. The evaporator fan still stays on. The resistance on the fan motor is 40 Ohms. What could be the problem? Thanks!

Answer Hello Mike,
Sounds like a bad diffuser 2209751, a bad fresh food thermostat 2161460, Or a bad freezer thermostat 2182770. Either the temperature in the fresh food side isn't coming down, (lack of air circulation...fan running so this would have to be the damper) or the temperature is coming down but the thermostat isn't responding as designed.
