I have a Kenmore dryer. The igniter comes on but there is no gas. I was told that these coils are the problem. Is that right?

The heater in the gas dryer ignites and heats for about 2 minutes and then stops heating and blows cool air. If I stop the dryer and restart it, the flame does not ignite this time, yet I see the orange glow for a few seconds before it goes out. If instead, I wait 30 minutes to restart, the heater will work for a few minutes and then go cool again. Does this sound like the coils and will the Part Number: AP3094251 Made by WHIRLPOOL fit the Kenmore 11074902200 Thank you very much.

I followed your very indepth video, thanks for, it's great! And it seems as though it is the coils that need replacing, my dryer has no heat at all. However, I read above that you can check to see if the igniter is glowing, how? Does the dryer have to be turned on, with the gas on for this, presumably? And if so, how do I check for the igniter, as the front panel needs to be on to support the drum. Thanks, Mark

My dryer is doing the exact same thing as described above. When it's cold, flame on for 3 minutes or so, goes out, back on then out for good. Ignitor glows on and off as described. Ohm'd out the coils and the resistance is exactly what they should be per your specs at the top of the page. They energize strong when first started, then don't at all when it starts cycling after the flame goes out. Bypassed both Hi & Lo thermal switches, no change.

I have a kenmore gas dryer that has no heat when runing. I tested the igniter, flame sensor, coils, thermal fuse, hight limit thermostat, thermistor. Then I checked to see if the ignitor was getting power, and there was no power at all at the bottom of the dryer. I was told that the timer may be bad. Could the timer cause the power not toget to the bottom end of the dryer and cause the buner not to light. How can I test the timer to see if its working? Thanks

After reviewing the last answer for this part, I checked my readings on the coils and checked them against your answer and came up with this: the 2 prong reads 1269ohms and the three prong reads 1400 (1 & 2) and open (1&3). This suggests that the three prong is no good. Correct? Is it wise to replace both coils or just the faulty coil? Which is the one is the Main coil? Thanks for the first answer most helpful!!
