I'm replacing the cold control. I removed the whole assembly to put in the new part, therefore disconnecting two different connectors. One has nine wires, the other, two wires yellow and white through the box top. This second one is what I'm referring this question to. I noticed inside of the control panel there are two identical two-wire connectors. One has two wires, (brown and orange one), the other has three wires, (two whites and a one yellow), using the same kind of two wired connector as the first. There is only one connector coming from through the top of the box. I don't remember which of the two connectors inside of the control panel connects to the permanent mounted one in the box top.

Everything in the refrigerator part is freezing. Tried adjusting the temp up, but no change. I also turned the refrig temp knob to off position and fan continues to run. I also cleaned off the coil but no change. What could the problem be.

My old fridge has just started not freezing enough. I advance thermostat from 2.5 to 3.5 and it stated working for a day or so then over night went off again. I have found if I open the door and lightly tap below the temp control knobs it pops on again. Sometimes it will cycle on and off and sometimes not. I wonder if it is a bad or corroded connection, as the tapping works, or do you think I need a new thermostat..temp. control or whatever..I would really like to keep it going as I built the kitchen around it and the newer ones are taller. Thank you...J.D.

I have diagnosed the problem to be the cold control, but, I cannot get the front panel off on the top side of the fridge where the cold control is. I removed 2 screws on the furthest back part of the housing, but I cannot get at the scres that hold it up on the front. They are behind plastic parts. How do I remove this? Thank you

Refridgerator runs both freezer and storage section . It shuts off think it is defrosting or reaches shut off temp then won't restart . If I hit the side of the fridge or rock it a little it will restart . I think it could be 1 of 3 parts , Defrost Timer Kit , Overload and Relay Assembly but don't know for sure what is wrong .

I have a side by side. My refrigerator stopped freezing and now the refrigerator side is not cooling. Lights work inside, but it keeps kicking on and off every 15 minutes. Trying hard to cool with a buzzing sound. I would like to fix this by myself. It is only 7 years old. What would be causing this to happen?

Hi - My refrigerator (ED25QFXHW00) has power but nothing is running … no cold in freezer and frig (I hear no compressor running and hear no fan running and hear nothing...just light in the refrigerator and freezer. My refrigerator has dial thermostat\cold control (1 to 5 with 5 is the coldest). I adjusted it around and I heard the compressor kick it and it ran for 1 minute and it stopped by itself. Now I tried to adjust the thermostat again and it nothing came on. Testing done: defrost thermostat \ BIMETL-DEF: I put it in the cup of ice and testing continuity and it failed (I hear no beep). Please help the issue with my refrigerator. Thanks

The water supply line for the ice maker continually freezes in the interior of the unit in a sealed area of the box I cannot access. This is preventing the ice maker for getting water. I have been able to thaw the frozen line by injecting hot water into the line from outside the box and the ice maker works. However the line refreezes preventing water from reaching the ice maker. I have gradually reduced the temp control for the freezer until I reached the lowest/warmest possible setting. I cannot adjust the control any lower/warmer, the water supply line remains frozen and the temp reading inside the freezer box is Zero Degrees. After doing some reading I suspect the Cold Control (#2198202) has gone bad but I would like your expert diagnosis. Also, I would appreciate your thoughts on rating the 'degree of difficulty' of a Do It Yourself repair. Regards, Bob Neely Fayetteville, NC.
