My washer stops when it is to drain and spin and I get an error code nd. I have had a repair man out, he said there was a soap and mold buildup in the pump and paper (he let that go down the drain), which he cleaned out, and added a cleaner and ran the washer on the normal load and it worked fine. He left, I ran the washer two times and on the third load the same error code came up and it would not drain. He came back and said it was the pump, we ordered it, he came back and installed it (ASSY-Pump DR). The same thing happened again. I am careful to not use too much soap and not overload the washer. When this happens, I remove the clothes and put the washer on spin only. You can hear the water drain but the dryer does not spin. The repairman said we probably need a circuit board. Any ideas?
Answer Pat, The "ND" error code, indicates a drain problem. There are a couple of other checks to make before you replace the control board. Check or replace the "air dome" hose 34001436 if there is debris or deposits in the hose, that could cause the water level switch to not reset to empty, during or after the drain, causing the code. and then, check or replace the water level switch 34001324 and wiring. If the switch has a faulty circuit when the tub is empty, that would also cause the "ND" error. You may also want to run the washer through a full REG hot water wash cycle after these checks. That will assist in cleaning any residual detergent, suds , etc. from the washer. Thanks and Good Luck
Pump is getting power, no clogs, impeller spins when we test mechanism, yet water not draining.
Answer John, are you sure you have no clogs ? did you disconnect the tub to pump hose and check for an obstruction at the tub spout for the hose ? If you have a small article "floating" between the tubs, it could block the spout and the washer won't drain. As long as the drain hose is not sealed to the standpipe and there are no kinks or blockage in the hoses, you will need to check the impleller inside the pump, to see if it is spinning on the motor shaft. Good Luck
Can this be used in maytag mah8700aww? I have the plate just need the pump.
Answer Hello Sherri. According to the model number you provided, 34001320 is the correct drain pump. Hope this helps.
Where can I get the service/repair manual for my washer? I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Model # MAH8700AWW. Mike
Answer Hello Mike! Unfortunately, we do not have the repair manual available for this washer. We do, however, have a free repair forum available for repair help. Here is the link to register and post questions, thanks!
