I just replaced the ice maker. I connected the wiring harness. The water line is clear. Still not ice.
Answer Hello John. It can take 4 to 6 hours for the icemaker to make ice after it is installed. Also, make sure the temp in the freezer is 0 to 5°.
I replaced the ice maker and it isn't making ice. Has not even filled with water. Installation was simple, so I'm not sure what is wromg.
You will want to pull the icemaker out and check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen. If frozen they you will want to clean out the tube and replace the water valve as the valve is seeping water which comes into the tube and freezes. This issue will most likely be with the valve 2199838.
I need to replace the icemaker assembly, but am having trouble separating the wiring harness connection to remove the old assembly. Any suggestions?
Answer Hello Jack. You need to unplug the wiring connection from the head of the icemaker. There is a clip you press in and the wire connector pulls out of the head of the unit.
Is the water control valve for ice maker the same for water dispenser, and where is it located?
Answer Hello Rudy. Yes, the water valve W10408180 is the same for the icemaker and the dispenser. It is located on the back of the unit behind the compartment panel.
Water is free flowing in ice maker even in the off setting, had to shut off water supply.
Answer Hello Marty,
This can be a set of contacts stuck in the icemaker assembly or a bad water valve. If you pull the unit out and turn the water on, then unplug the refrigerator, if the water stops replace the icemaker 4317943. If it continues to run, replace the water valve W10408179.
