I ordered Whirlpool 4387835 Overload for Refrigerator part but no wiring diagram goes with it. I have 2 incoming wires from the power source, one that goes and one that comes from a capacitor. The relay that came has 3 pins and the overload that came has one. How would I install this? Where do the wired connect to?

Hi, My refrigerator intermittently stops working. When this happens and I turn the thermostat down, the light will flicker. At this point the fridge sometimes won't start unless I leave the thermostat off for several minutes. When it does start it may only run for 5 - 10 minutes, in which case I go through this procedure again, or it might work properly for several days. I was originally thinking that this was a thermostat problem, but realize that it could also be overload protection or starting relay(s) problem. Thanks, Dave

Compressor won't go on - clicking noise heard, so checked the box (marked Klixon 4SP, with 3 wire connectors) on the compressor. There is a rattling noise, so I think it is bad. However, not sure whether I need p/n 8201799 or 4387835.

This unit does not cool. The starter relay seems fine, or at least it does not have a rattling sound when shaken. The overload looks fine, but rattles when shaken. If the overload rattles when shaken is it bad, or does that "test" just apply to the starter relay.

My refrigerator and freezer is not getting cold. The fan is working and the compressor seems to go on and then after 20 seconds there is a click and it stops. Then there is a pause for 30 or so seconds and the compressor clicks and tries to go on and then goes off and the cycle starts over. I was wondering if this sounds like the the start relay? I took the start relay off and it rattles when I shake it. So, I think it is bad, but I don't want to order a new one if it is a compressor problem. Do the compressors go bad often? Thanks Bill

Hello, my Whirlpool ED25PEXHW01 stopped cooling after we cleaned it. The compressor is not working at all. We think it is the start relay/overload, but I see that there are two separate sets of parts listed that I could get (parts 13 and 16 on the unit schematic) in 16 I see a jumper strap that I don't see on my unit. Could you advise whether I need 13 or 16? Thanks!

Hello The compressor on my Whirlpool side-by-side quit working and I smelled burnt plastic. I pulled the starter relay and it is badly burned and the capacitor that plugs into it shows exterior damage from the overheated relay. I assume I should replace the capacitor as well. Correct? The capacitor (I assume it is a capacitor) is a black box approx. 2.25" X 1.25" X .75". Is a capacitor included in with the starter kit? Or do I have to purchase that separatey? If so, do you sell a replacement capacitor? My real concern is that the compressor is bad but I first want to try replacing these parts to see that will fix it. Thanks

There's no instructions on installing the start relay and overload kit 4287835. How does it install in my Roper RS25AEXLQ00 side by side fridge? The burnt out relay had two white wires and a red plugged in the back.

I have an old fridge that recently stopped cooling. I can hear it blow air though. The compressor is warm to the touch. I looked online it sounds like it might be a compressor start relay. Can you help me find the correct part number?
