Answer Randy, Does the ice maker fill the reservoir with water ? after a couple/few minutes ? I wouldn't start by repalcing the control board, You should start by making sure you have water to the fill valve, that the valve opens and lets water into the unit and fills the reservoir, and that the recirculating pump start to run constantly approximately 10 minutes after the unit has been started. This is not as simple machine as you'd think, it has several components and controls that make it operate. Thanks

Why are my ice cubes small and not frozen hard? The ice maker stopped making ice. Ran two cleaning cycles, one with vinegar and water and the second with dishwasher detergent and water. After that water started circulating through the system and back into the tank. It then started making ice cubes that were small and not frozen hard. I ordered the correct cleaner and will repeat the cleaning cycle. What else could cause this problem? Can you verify the sequence of events that take place to make ice? l. The water valve comes on and fills the tank. 2. The pump comes on and fills the freezing tray. 3. The compressor comes on and freezes the water. 4. The heating coils come on and make the ice cubes which then fall into the ben. I have cleaned the coils at the bottom of the unit. I am concerned about the fan. Does it run all the time or just when the compressor is running? Does it need to be cleaned? The ice maker is about five years old and in a clean environment. I am helping my sister with this problem. I didn't know anything about ice makers when I started. She couldn't find he owners manual. The unit has never been cleaned with Nickel Safe Ice Maker Cleaner. Thank you so very much for your reply. Charles.

Answer Charles, You will want to check to make sure that the condenser fan is operating when the compressor is operating. If not then you will want to check to make sure that the fan is getting power. If it is then the fan would need to be replaced. Check the cutter grid to make sure that the grid is not broken. Allow the unit to run 24 hours to see if the ice improves. If not check these things.

Whirlpool gold undercounter icemaker .Wont come on but has power at switch when you turn on but no noise nothing.Got a 220 power mess up to the plug that it was pluged into.Insted of 110.Think it damaged control board ?

Answer Tim, The control board would be the first thing that you would want to check. Make sure that there is 120 vac coming to the control board. If there is then the control board is defective and would need to be replaced. You may have other components that also failed but will have to work your way through them once new control is in place.

Answer Manly, some ice melting is normal, especially if the cubes are left in the unit too long, there is an issue with the door seal/gasket, or environment/installation. There could also be an issue with the water supply to the machine. But at this point, it not likely a control board issue.

Hello, my ice machine turns on and water solenoid turns on and reservoir fills. It then overflows and stops a few minutes later. The machine made 2 bathes of ice and quite and went into filling the reservoir to overflow and thats it. Ice is very cloudy. Nothing happens from that point on. When in cleaning cycle the circulation pump will turn on and work. Is the circuit board the problem. Thanks, Greg

Answer Hello Greg, You will want to check both your bin thermostat and the evaporator thermistor. Both should read at 10K ohms at 77 degrees. If either checks bad then you will need to replace the thermistor. If these check ok then you would want to replace the control board.

Water fills in the reservoir pan but it appears the water never makes it to the ice plate to make the ice. No ice being made. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Is the wiring harness available that goes from the control panal to the place where the it hooks to the water pump harness? The pictorial shows the wiring but no part number.

Answer Hello James, The wiring harness2313636 will include the power cord, the harness that goes to water valve, reversing valve, condenser motor, compressor up to the circulation pump and then to control board. If you need the one from control board to the connector for the pump to plug into this is the harness needed.

My condensor fanstops during the ice making mode. I replaced the fan motor and it worked for a few days then went back to a very warm condensor. Any suggestion as to what may be happening.

Answer Hello John, The condenser fan would either have a loose connection, damaged wires or the control board 2304016 is causing not to operate properly. Check all connections and wiring from fan to control board. If this checks ok then you would need to replace control board.
