The "control locked" indicator light is intermittently lit, and the control panel won't respond. I hold the cancel and start buttons and the light sometimes goes out, then the dryer seems to function normally. I also think the vent tubing has a lot of built up material and needs to be cleaned. Are these symptoms somehow related?

Electric dryer does not tumble. All controls light up as normal. When I press the START button, I hear a loud click, but the dryer does not start. Dryer heats up. I thought it was the motor, so I ordered a new one and installed it, but the results are the same. Tested the broken belt switch continuity - it functions normally. How do I know if the control board is the problem?

The controls on our Whirlpool Duet dryer have stopped working properly. When you press the Control On button none of the lights or displays light up. If I randomly tap the Control On, Start and Cancel buttons and turn the function knob I can usually get something to light up. If I am able to get something to come up on the display and close the door the dryer will start running on it's own after several seconds with out pressing the start button. Is it more likely the control board or the control panel that is bad?

System appears normal. Once the Hold to Start Button is pushed. You hear a click and the sensing light comes on but the unit does not start. Placed unit in diagnostic mode and all panel functions appear to be normal. Door hold switch tested OK. The moisture sensor tested OK. Manually checked the thermal fuse OK Manually checked the thermistor OK metered to 10.22 ohms. Manually checked the moisture sensor OK. Manually checked the Thermal Cut Off and High Limit Thermostat and Heater. Manually checked the Belt Switch OK. Tested Start and Run Coils on Motor Tested OK. Within Resistance specs. Ran test recommended by Tech Sheet on Electronic Control Board Tested OK. Tested P1,3 resistance across P1,4 Showed to be Open. At this point the only thing I can come up with is the control board is bad? What do you think?

Control panel won't come on. Unplugged my dryer then it worked for two cycles now the unit will not come on. Nothing lights up on the control board. There is a dim light on the cycle selector.
