Lights on display don't work. Front time display went first, followed a week or 2 later by the rest of the lights. Only the "clean" light will light up when finished. Dishwasher runs normally. What should I check or replace? Dishwasher is a 2004 model.
Answer Bob, You want to start by checking or replacing the control panel/key pad assembly 6-919005. The LED lights and display are a component of the panel. The tech data sheet, should be attached to the back side of the kick plate, you can use the tech sheet and a multi meter to test each button on the keypad, if you wish.
I have dishwasher maytag model mdb9750aws can not unclock control. I need control panel or control board?
Answer Hello John. If the button is not working on the control panel, you will need to order and replace the control panel on the unit. If the button is good, and the unit will not unlock, you will need to order and replace the control board. If you press the button and light goes off and on as a selection, then the button is good and the board is bad.
Maytag dishwasher, latch broke first and replaced. Now none of the lights or display are working. The washer still works fine. I'm looking at order a new control board for it. Part number 12002710. Is that going to fix my problem?
Answer Hi John. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. Use a volt/ohm meter part #@ TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Look at the control panel ribbon cable part # 6-919827 and make sure it is not kinked at the folds and flows smoothly. Use a pencil eraser to clean the connection and reinsert it into the board. If this does not relight the board then you need to go deeper in diagnostics mode. The service tech sheet will give the ohm's values as you check the control panel ribbon cable connections while pushing the commands individually. Then look at the inside of the control panel in the center where the power latch/switch assy pivots on the back side. If the V-tabs have broke then you need to replace the control board itself. Then insure the unit is properly leveled with all 4-legs touching the ground. The field service test will help from here. Be sure to let us know how we can help further . Thank You.
The lights and buttons on the top of the unit stopped working and the lights went out. I put a new circuit board and a new control panel on, but nothing is working still. Any other steps I have missed? We checked to make sure power was being provided to the unit and there is power going to the board.
Answer HI Steve. First look at the unit and make sure it is level front to back and side to side. This will properly line the door switches/latch assy. If the unit (back legs especially) are not level and solid the unit door will flex and not close the switch feeding the control board. See if you are getting 120 vac to the control board when the latch is tripped closed. You can unbolt the door striker and use it momentarily for this test. If you are getting 120 vac to the board, then you can use the tech sheet behind the kick plate to put the unit in a self diagnostic field test. It will allow the fault codes to point in the circuit of failure. Thank You.
