I am getting a F2E1 error when the oven tries to power up. The oven attempts to start heating and then beeps and F5 stays on screen. I had the main board replaced 6 months ago. Any ideas on what to do?
The F2 E1 error code is an indication that the keypad tail is not connected. You will want to check the keypad connector for a firm connection. Press cancel and if the error code returns after 60 seconds then replace the control board. The F5 is an door latch issue. This issue could also be caused by the control board.
What those the thermo sensor look like and where is it located?
Answer Hello John. The sensor is inside the oven cavity. It is part number W10131825.
Our 8 year old Whirlpool double over has begun showing us code F3E2, then it goes into locked when we push off. It happens about 10 or so minutes after pre-heat completes. I took a quick guess and replaced the upper oven sensor, but that hasn't helped. I'd guess that the only other cause is the Control Panel, and that if I called a service tech that's what he would do, but it would cost me a whole lot more than just buying the part from you folks. Now paying closer attention to the operation, and using an electronic temperature probe, looks like the broil element in the upper oven doesn't shut off, raising the temperature above 400 (top end range of electronic probe), even though the control board continues to indicate it's at 350. 1. Is there anything else that I should check before ordering the panel? 2. Am I correct in my diagnosis?
Thank you, Ray
Answer Hello Ray,
As per the tech sheet on the unit, if the temperature sensor has been changed, the only other cause of this code is a stuck set of contacts on the control board (AP5272198).
Suddenly my front panel light won't work...2 short beeps and then nothing...the light comes on when I open the door and the clock beeps when I push the clock button...what could be wrong!
Based on the information it sounds like the membrane switch may be the cause of failure. You will want to check to make sure that the connection for the membrane switch to the control board is a good firm connection with no corrosion or being dirty.
The key pad has a fault code on display "e 6 f 2". When I reset the breaker the display went blank. When I press the buttons they beep but oven wont come on and the display is still blacked out. The oven won't work it just keep beeping every now and then without even touching the display which is still black out. I reset the breaker several times nothing works display is still out. When I hit a button it just beep but nothing works.
If the display on the unit has stopped working then you will want to check to make sure that the transformer on the unit is good. When checking the transformer, you will check at the control board. Check across connector P16 pins 5 to pin 7 for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the control board is faulty. If there is 120 vac then check from P16 pins 2 to 3 for 24 vdc. If there is not 24 vdc then you will need to replace the transformer. If there is 24vdc then the control board is faulty. For the error code F2 E6, this indicates that the Cancel key drive line is open. You would check the keypad connector for firm connection. Press cancel and if error code returns after 60 seconds then replace the keypad. If it does not come back then replace the control.
