Hi, the freezer is not freezing ice cream pop sicles etc. very soft. refridge is about 45 degrees . would this be a (temp. control switch) ? we turn both all the way up has not help . We replace the defroster heater about a week ago we had frost building up in the freezer.
Answer Hello Bob. Did you melt all the ice off the coils and have you checked to make sure the heater is working after you installed the new heater. If not, or if the heater is not working, it may be the defrost thermostat or the defrost timer. Remember after the part is installed, you will need to melt any ice off the coils to have the unit cool properly.
Fridge never shuts off. Temp in freezer is -20, Temp in fresh food side is 50. Is this most likely the temp sensor, or the timer? Could it be the defroster heater?
Answer Hello Rich. You will need to check and see if there is a defrost problem inside the freezer. If so, you will want to test the heaters 61001846 and the thermostat 52085-29. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If it is 50 in the refrigerator, that is the reason the refrigerator continues to run all the time. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
