Where would we get the step by step instructions to put the helix end cap back on?
Answer Lisa, We don't have any written instructions for your particular ice bin. We will be sending you some basic information that should be helpful. In short, you'll remove the bin assembly from thr frezer. Remove to front cover 67004255 from the bin(it snaps on and off), remove the nut from the end of the auger shaft, and the the screws holding the cover 67002271 to the mounting plate. when you remove the blades and spacers, lay them out in order, then you can remove the auger and drive plate D7749401. install the drive on the auger shaft and insert the assembly through the opening in the back of the bin, and reinsall the other parts in reverse order. Thanks
Just yesterday my fridge stopped dispensing ice. Upon examining the ice maker, we discovered that the top end of the ice agitator had become dislodged. Based on the pictures above, I will call the ice crusher/dispenser end the bottom and the circle end with plastic the top.
Normally the circle at the top wraps around that piece of plastic. In our fridge, the metal has some how came off the plastic. As a result, the agitator is unable to turn because the metal circle hits the wall of the ice bin.
Based on your experience, do you think I could somehow get the metal back around the circle? My concerns with ordering the new part are 1. How difficult it will be to take the current model apart (Need to keep ice bin), 2. How difficult it would be to put back together, and 3. What caused it to happen the first time and will it happen again? Thank you for any help here.
Answer Jordan, You'll need to dismantle the ice bucket assembly. Carefully remove the ice bin front panel(it snaps on and off the front of the bin) remove the two(2) bottom screws that secure the metal mounting plate to the bin front, unclip the upper mounts and slide the auger assembly out of the opening. You can then remove the mandiplate assembly and the nut on the end of the shaft, You can then remove the chopper plates and spacers and drum, You can then mount the drive block on the auger, and reverse the procedure. When you re instal the ice bin, check and make sure the drive block, is meeting and seating the drive yoke on the motor properly.
Several months ago I replaced the water filter it worked fine for a few days.
Then only a trickle of water, it works fine the by-pass plug installed. Now recently the ice cubes are only half formed. Any info would be appreciated.
Answer Hello Bob. Remove the water line from the bottom of the water valve and press the dispenser and see if water comes out there. If not, remove the line coming into the valve from the filter, make sure water is off first, then place line in a bucket and see if water comes out when the water is turned on. If so, you will need to replace the water valve 67005154. If not, you will need to replace the filter housing 67004106.
I need installation instructions for this part. I want to order it but I need to know how hard it will be to replace it before I place an order.
Answer Hi Narkeisha. The most challenging issue of this part replacement is just remnoving the front white cover of the blades / auger assy. part # 12740302. Then you just lift this part up and off the ice bin assy. and pull out from the front. Carefully look into the inside of this metal plate on the origional part and remove the inner screws first. Use a putty knife to pry the sides off to remove the white front cover. Thank You.
