I need step by step instructions on how to install this part. Please advise.
Answer Hello Barbara,
We would need an email address to be able to provide information on installing tub cover.
My Maytag Neptune has a "comb-like" plastic thing in the bottom half of the tub cover. I'm guessing it filters water as it is clogged with gunk, hair and and lint. I cleaned it as best I could. Can I remove it for better cleaning or should I replace it?
This is a great site. Many thanks for your help.
Answer Flo, The "comb like"plastic thing in the bottom half of the tub cover, is actually a "guard", to keep articles from getting between the tubs. There is a tendency for lint, hair, etc. to accumulate on the "brush" and you do need to clean the build up off occasionally. You don't really want to remove it, and it would require repalcing the tub cover to repalce it. You may want to add it to your "spring cleaning" list, as a maintenance item.
Which tub seal will work with this model, item ap4028913?
Answer Hello Richard! According to the model number given the replacement seal comes with the tub cover, part number 22003212. Thanks!
I notice there are three (3) different part numbers for this Item:
22002961 series 42
22003212 series 53
22002238 series 10
How do I know which series I have?
Answer Hello Charles! The series is based on your serial number to the appliance. Please supply this information to help verify which part number you would need. Thanks!
