The handle snapped off the inside of my dishwasher model mdbh950awq do I need a whole new control panel or can I just order a latch assembly?
Answer You should be able to replace the latch and handle assembly W10130696 only, unless the control panel 6-917728 has been damaged in any way. Hope this helps!

I need a latch asm . for my Maytag mdb7600awq is w10130696 and ap4263144 the same part??
Answer Hello Jim! Yes, the parts are the same. W10130696 is our internal part number. This is the door latch assembly kit with the handle and will fit your model. Thanks!
Trying to replace the Door latch - is there some trick to "unplugging" the electrical leads". Have been unable to unplug but it looks like such a simple thing to do. Is there some "detent" that is not obvious?
Answer Hello T Bill,
First dis-continue power to the unit. When I access the door latch assembly, I use a small screwdriver to pry the connectors from the switches. This prevents damage to the connectors and switches. They do go on tight but this method works well.
THE HANDLE BROKE OFF. DO YOU REMOVE THE WHOLE INSIDE PANEL TO REPLACE?
MODEL MDB-5600 AWQ
To replace the handle you will have to remove the screws from the inner door panel and lift the panel up. There will be a screw holding the handle and latch assembly in place.
Is it possible to get a new door latch for amana dishwasher model # add12004wb?
Answer Jen, I believe your model should read ADB1200AWB (B instead of the second D and A instead of the 4). Please double check your appliance model number to ensure the model found is correct and matches what is on your model tag plate. The replacement door latch assy is part number W10130698. Thanks!
The handle on the dishwasher is very loose but still opens with some difficulty. The washer still operates flawlessly. I believe I need a new door latch assembly. Is part #AP4263144 what I need? Any other suggestions for troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks.
Answer Hi. Open the inner door panel. Look inside the back side of the control panel part # 6-919823 to see if the door latch female pivot points are broken and laying on the inside of the outer door bottom. This will make the door latch part # W10130696 loose. This is mainly caused by initial installation of the unit not being proper. Remove the lower kick plate and see if all 4-legs are snug against the floor. Correct this issue by following the installing instructions provided with the unit. So the latch and body is level and do not bind and break again. Thank You.
