How do I remove the old dishwasher door latch assembly?
Answer Hello Gil. You would remove the screws on the perimeter of the inner door and lift the door panel up. Once up there would possibly 1 screw holding in the latch assembly in place. Please make sure that the unit is powered off before doing this repair.
My dishwasher model # is MDBtt60awb3 and your reference chart shows that the latch assembly I need to replace is W10275768. And in the description there is no handle and i need the handle so the description then says for the black handle order part W10130698. Which i did. I have recieved part and installed. It will not completely latch and lock. What is the problem?
Answer Brian, There are a couple of other things to check, first make sure the dishwasher is installed and secured to the cabinet properly, the dishwasher is level in both directions, and the door is aligned to the tub opening. Check the door strike W10119337 and make sure it's not loose or out of alignment to the door liner and catch. Check the tub /door seal make sure it's properly seated in the channel around the opening, and check to make sure the door isn't bowed out at the top, and the hinges aren't damaged.
I need door latch and handle does part #ap4264559 work in cross reference it says no #ap4481280 is latch only and part # is good, is there a handle part #?
This latch assembly W10130698 includes the handle but looking at reference material it states for models that start MDB would use part number W10130695 which also includes the handle.
I purchased the part w 102715768 but it does not have door handle. Can I take the handle off old switch?
Answer Hello Bill. Yes, you can remove and replace the handle, but these are really easy to break when doing so. If it breaks, you will need to order a new handle for the unit.
How do I disassemble the door to put a new door latch on? Simply take all screws off the inside of the door.
That is correct. You would remove the screws on the perimeter of the inner door and lift the door panel up. Once up there would possibly 1 screw holding in the latch assembly in place. Please make sure that the unit is powered off before doing this repair.
