My dishwasher is leaking on the right side of the door on the bottom. It is not a bad leak but just dripping on the floor. Is the problem the door seal?
The dishwasher leaking on the right side would most likely be caused by a bad door seal. You will want to check to make sure that the dispenser reservoir is not leaking but if not then the door seal would need to be replaced.
there is steam escaping from the top right of the washer and today I had water dripping from the sides as well. is this a sign of a bad seal?
Answer Sean, Probably not. You will need to check and make sure the dishwasher has not "shifted" in the cabinet, that all four feet are on the floor and the unit is level. You'll also need to check the door hinges were they attach to the door panel and make sure they aren't loose. Whenyou re install the inner door panel, make sure you use a criss cross pattern, when tightening the panel screws.
Whirlpool dishwasher door seal. Do they fit all whirlpool dishwashers?
Answer Hello Dennis,
While the door seals are all similar, they are not all the same. If you could please list your model number, we can assist you in locating the correct one for your application.
Amana Dishwasher is leaking down the outside front panel under the latch Assy/controls. What can cause this? Do I need to replace the door seal?
Answer Steve, No replacing the door seal will not solve the leakage from the control/door panel area. You do want to check and make sure the water in the bottom of the tub does not exceed 140 dgrs. F. when it fills. You will need to remove the control panel and the outer door panel. Check the vent system for a proper mount to the door liner, a proper tight fit to the control panel and foam seal 6-919801 and
99002931 You'll also want to check the top level spray arm 6-917644 for proper rotation, damage or distortion. It could be forcing the water into the vent and out the door panel. Good Luck and Thanks
Water leaks across entire bottom of DW or sometimes only on left side. Will replacing door washer cure this?
Answer Hi Ray. Yes, this is the usual fix. Door seal part # 99002588. Feel the inner door panel to see if it has nicks that allow it to pass through the seal. Open the door. Use a paper towel to wipe the side of the inner door panel. Close the door and start it in reg. wash cycle.Let it wash for a minute or 2. (No-Soap) ! Then slowly open the door and see just where the water is escaping out onto the side of the inner door panel. Then you have found the leak area. Examine the door seal as you pull out the old one and then insert the new one in the same manner. Follow the ribs on the side for proper insertion. You carefully fold the seal in half and start at the top center under the dor latch then down the sides. There is usually just enough to have some folded fwd. at the bottom of the tub in the front. Don't sweat @ getting it exactly perfect. You may have to mark the side of the door latch at the point of where it touches the cabinet. Then you can use a 5/16" nut driver to loosen and adjust the latch. It naturally will be harder now to open and shut. Use 2- hands, as it will take a dozen or so cycles to "break- in" the new seal . Thank You.
the seal comes out with the door after the whole cycle is done. what am i doing wrong.
Answer J Baronello, Remove the door seal, and clean it by soaking it in hot water, then gently scrub the surfaces with a cloth. also check and clean the sealing edge of the inner door liner. When you reinstall the gasket makes sure you dont' "stretch" and make sure you seat it as far into the channel as possible, using a small flat blade screwdriver, but be very careful don't punture or tear the seal. Good Luck and Thanks
Can you tell me if this seal the door seals to has anything that sticks or glues?
Answer Hello Craig. The gasket 99002588 does not use glue. It presses into the channel of the dishwasher. Hope this helps.
