The refridgerater door does not close by itself. If you push it,the door will close. The bottom of door seems to stick out more than the top (out of alignment). The freezer door works just fine. The vegetable trays are pushed in.
You will want to check the cams on the door hinge as this would be the most likely cause for the door not closing properly. Also check the unit to make sure that the unit is properly leveled as this could cause this issue as well.
The door makes a popping sound when you open the door. It looks like the door cam pops when the plastic rotates downward. Do you think we need to replace the door cam or is there something we can do?
Answer Tamara, you'll need to replace the cam. To verify the part listed for your appliance we'll need the appliance model number. Please verify this information and repost for further assistance. Thanks!
I need to replace the plastic "cam/hinge" on my freezer door. I have done the Refrigerator door before but when I started taking the freezer door off, I have to deal with the Water tubing. How/where do I disconnect it so I can replace the "cam/hinge" and put the tubing through the hinge?
Answer Hello Kathy,
You remove the kick panel and the water line is on the left side. Follow it back to the coupling. You will need to put down a towel and remove the side of the coupling closest to the door. If it is a threaded style, it will simply unscrew counterclockwise. If it a John Guess fitting, you will need to press the ring around the water tube toward the fitting and while holding it there, pull the water line out. To reinstall it you just press it back in and when it bottoms, push harder and it will pop in another 1/4 inch or so. To seal it, pull on it without holding the ring in.
I have a broken closer cam on lower right door hinge on refrigerator. When opening door, a thump noise is heard . How do I remove the electriclal wires to install the camat bottom of door?
Answer Hello Anne,
The model number lised does not show as a valid model number but the upper hinge is where the wire harness should go for the dispenser. There would be a connector that you would disconnect. If the wire harness does come to the bottom of door then there would be a connector there and the connector will slide through a hole in the hinge and there would be a hole on the cam for the wires to go through.
Could I get the directions on how to replace the cams? I have purchased them, but want to know what all my husband and I can expect when trying to replace them. Thank you!
Answer Sandy, You'll need to remove power to the refrigerator, remove everything from the door bins, and remove the kickplate grille. Once you remove the top hinge cover 10849401 and the two screws holding the upper hinge assembly 12426201 to the cabinet, you can remove the hinge from the door panel, carefully open the fridge door enough to clear the opening and lift the door up and off the bottom hinge. You can then remove the mounting screw from the closer on the bottom hinge and the cam on the bottom of the door. Use a liberal amount of grease on the closer and cam when you start to re assemble the door. The freezer door will be a bit more difficult, you'll need to disconnect the water tube for the dispenser from the bottom hinge, and disconnect the dispenser wire harness under the top hinge cover, and then proceeed with the basic removel, install procedure.
