Washer sometimes doesn't drain completely and if you open the door water runs out. Could this be from overloading the washer?
You would want to remove the lower kickpanel on the front of the unit. You will need to pull the cap and filter out of the drain pump and look for clogs. This would be the most likely cause for this issue.
hi i have this dryer and i whant to know if i can connect it straight to 240 voltage or do i have to move any switch thanks
Answer Norbert, as long as you have a 240 VAC, 60 hz, 30 amp, 3 or 4 wire outlet, and double breakers in the breaker box, you won't need anything else, other than a matching power cord.
Where can I go to get step by step instructions to change the door hinge?
We do not have printed instructions on how to replace the door hinge for the unit. When you remove the door from unit, you will want to take the screws on the inner door out. Once out you will be able to disassemble door by taking the inner panel off. Once off you should be able to take the hinge out.
Is this the correct part needed? The door sags. I have to lift on it, just before closing in order for the washer to close. I read the posts but I wasn't sure if I had any door damage. I didn't see anything noticeable. What should I look for if there was door damage?
Answer Hello M.M.,
The door hinge 8181843 is the correct part to correct a drooping door. Most of these that I have had to change was due to folks putting their weight on the door with their arm while loading or unloading the machine. You simply cannot see damage by just looking at it. The only way you can tell it has damage is by opening the door and closing it slowly while watching the alignment of the door strike as it meets the door switch assembly. If it strikes too low, the hinge replacement is the only way to correct the situation.
I have the Whirlpool Duet front loader, model number GHW9100LW1. Currently, the door hinge is on the left, but we moved them and I need the hinge to be on the right. Is part #AP3128729 the correct part number to order?
Answer Hello Beth,
Unfortunately, I have to be the bearer of bad news. This is one of the few models that doesn't allow a door swap. Because of the shape of the door, the location of the door lock assembly (and harness), and the mounting of the door hinge, Whirlpool never made allowances for the reversal of the door.
How do I take off the old hinge, to put on a new one?
Answer Hello Tina,
Remove the screws and lift straight up to slide the door off of the "hook clips" it hangs on. Lay the door inside up on a towel or blanket. As you remove the screws, be sure to place them where you will put them back in the same holes during reassembly. I usually sit with my legs straight out so I can support the edges of the door while I work on it.
As long as you put the screws back where you removed them from, the rest is just a matter of removing screws and replacing them. The hardest part is getting the three sections back together straight. You may want to have help to get them straight when getting the glass back in.
